I've only had the product for 5 days but I haven't bitten my nails since, I can't. You can't absentmindedly put your fingers in your mouth because the taste quickly reminds you not to. The stuff stays on through washing dishes, showers, etc. I've only applied it twice in 5 days and I could have waited but I wanted to do all my nails instead of just the two I usually bite. I have been biting my nails for years. This stuff is amazing. If I had to reapply it constantly it probably would not work for me. But since that is not the case, it is really working well. It has a little bit of a shine to it like a clear nail polish but now that the nails are growing back, I don't mind that.Update: Today is two weeks that I have not bitten my nails. I can assure you I have tried. I've only had to apply it 3 times. I'm not sure I really needed to but I was being cautious. This is an amazing product. I've told everyone I know about it. It works for cuticle biters too. Even though you don't apply it directly on the cuticle, ot's close enough to the nail to stop you from biting. I'm thoroughly sold.

My 7 year old son starting biting his nails and sucking his thumb in kindergarten. At first, we thought it was anxiety or nervousness from starting school, and maybe it started off as such, but he just continued the bad habits into the following school years. I tried a couple of bitter nail polishes from CVS and Target. None of the polishes stopped him, despite tasting terrible to me. My son somehow adapted to the bad taste by literally sucking off the polish or biting around it until he could get to his nails.I had researched several nail-biting treatments by googling around and stumbled upon this one. It was advertised for the “toughest biters”. I figured it could not hurt to try and hope it would work. As usual, when I got it, I gave the standard bitter polish a try, and it was disgusting and would stop me. But the true test was on my son’s hand. I put the basic polish on his favorite thumbnail while he slept. He had tried the other failed polishes before, so he knows what would be coming. Let’s say he is not a willing participate anymore, which is why I entered stealth mode. When he awoke, he started in on his fingers as usual, but he knew something was wrong with his thumb immediately. But, as before, he was able to work around it with a little more trouble than the previous polishes. So, I followed the directions and added another couple of bitter drops to the polish. WOW, the new polish was something to behold, it was stronger and even more gross tasting, which I did not think was possible. Feeling more confident that night, I put the polish on his favorite hand and waited for the morning. He tried to bite and got so frustrated, but he quickly switched to the other hand. BINGO! I did both hands the next night!Because the taste was so bad, day by day he figured out it would be best not to bite than to taste the polish. I put the polish on every couple of days to keep his nails tasting gross since my son is a swimmer. Even though it is waterproof, I read other reviews that it could come off with long expose to water or baths. It took a full week to start seeing results. Now it has been 6 weeks, and my son's hands no longer look horrible and his nails look healthy.Not only do his hands look wonderful, but I have also noticed that he has a little more confidence and does not look like a baby anymore with his hands in his mouth. This polish is a nail saver miracle!

We got this for my toddler who keep biting his nails and he got to the point where he will do it all the time. We applied this nail polish to his nails and the smell wasn’t bad, but I have to say, it taste horrible, and well that’s the point. It seems to be working for him, it’s not like he miraculously stopped biting his nails, he is does but it’s not that bad. The day we apply the nail polish he won’t even try to bite the nails, later he would try do it and we can see the faces he makes. But he’s a stubborn boy. We got this product because iS not toxic, it won’t do any harm to our son and hopefully he finally gets over this biting nails thing soon. I’m giving it 4 start only because it takes a little bit to dry and when you have a toddler trying to scape of your arms that comes to an issue. Other than that this product is good, does it’s job, and it’s best to use up to 3 times a week when you have a stubborn kid like mine.

Its probably a good product and will help some...however did not work for helping my 2 year old stop biting her nails. My daughter age 2 sometimes bites her nails till they will bleed. I thought this product would be the beginning to the end of her behavior, boy was I wrong. I tried the product on myself first and tasted it as it dried on my nails. YUCCKK! This stuff tastes absolutely horrible ! Painted the product on my two year old and oddly enough I put the tip of my tongue on her nails to see if it tasted bad again DOUBLE YUCCKK!Unluckily for me by the next hour she had her nails in her mouth like there was nothing there. It didn't bother her in the least bit. I tried again the next day and same response. If it was I with the issue of nail biting I think it would definitely deter me from nail biting. Just did not work for me on my little girl.
