Farmer's Son: Calving Season on a Family Farm

I fully expected to love this book and ended up being half-hearted about it. Liked the culture and history lessons, and appreciated his honesty, but I put the book away after 1/3 because I found his writing style tedious and although I'm sure you have to be matter of fact about animals when you are a farmer, that doesn't mean I enjoy reading about it. Some of it I found shocking.
