The Remote Control is used to wirelessly start, stop and collect data from PIMs during transit. With a simple point-and-click, the remote can interact with one, or multiple PIMs to transmit commands, collect temperature data, or check product integrity. Remotes are able to instantaneously collect the entire temperature history needed for shelf life computations. Once data is collected, another click allows information to be uploaded to the computer via a wireless USB Reader. Remotes are easily configured by non-programmers and are comprised of one simple button, similar to a simple garage door opener, making usage practical for any operator. For immediate information, LED indicator lights (red, yellow and green) indicate whether the product has maintained integrity throughout the transportation/ storage process. This provides operators with an instantaneous answer to whether a product is fresh or compromised, without having to upload data to a computer. Thus, real-time decisions can be made during the cold chain process. Battery life ranges from 3-6 months, depending on usage, and is replaceable.
