The Old Farmer's Almanac 2021

I liked that it tells you when to plant and gives you information on the different plants along with stories

The fifty-first OFA was a surprise when it arrived. Since our marriage in 1970 we have been buying the Almanac from various places, but they have always had the little hole in the corner for hanging and printed on serviceable newsprint. This trade edition looks like a library copy--slightly larger, much better and very white paper, color photos, no hole. The contents are just as informative and refreshing as always. We like to base our vacation plans on their 80% reliable long range forecasts and moon phases. We've used it for planting and harvesting, too. We get off on "Madam Gimlet's" psychic ads and subtle threats of imminent disaster if you don't send for Very Important White Papers. And, of course, x-ray glasses. It is a joy to read, and going back through past issues is still entertaining. We were wrapped up in other things this year, so when I remembered to look for a copy, they were all gone. Just after Amazon came to the rescue, the store received a new shipment. It will be a bit of a squeeze, but it will fit on the shelf with its older siblings.

Many yers ago I worked at a bank that gave out abridged versions of the Old Farmers Almanac (didn't have all the ads). Now I buy this version every year and give them out to family and friends around the holidays. I've recently gotten into astronomy and finding new stuff to read here.

Would buy again. I buy one every year

Buy one for your girlfriend, if she takes interest and reads it, she's a keeper

Farmers Almanac has always been an all around help for my outdoor love!

I am able to find out about tide times, sun and moon rise, Spring Tides, Neap tides, nighttime planet locations, Eclipses, Shooting Star Showers all over The Northern Hemisphere. Of course to use it outside of the USA you have to interpolate latetudinally, but you can get a fairly accurate determination of where to be and when to be there. This is just one aspect of it because there are times to plant things and other homey types of work like Gestation Times of animals in this one simple book. And there are recipes too.
