My son is 4'9" 100-105lbs with a 33.5" high hip measurement. The other reviews said to size up so I went with the 18-20 even though my kid is only 8. They fit with some room but the draw strings allow us to make them fit tight. They are a bit long on him but he doesn't seem to care about it. I may or may not hem them to look better.

My son has been wearing the size 10-12 since he was 11 and now he’s 15 and still fits into them (he’s skinny and just getting taller). The elastic is super stretched at this point but the drawstrings are still doing their job. They have been his only swim shorts that he has had the past 4 years. Used almost daily all summer and a couple times a week in our hot tub. Definitely a great purchase. I’m buying some now for my younger boys.
