Great Giants Stories Every Young Fan Should Know

Even though this book is targeted at young readers, it is a book of stories about some of the greatest SF Giants players; adult fans will love this book as much as young readers. I have an autographed Giants cap, signed by Dave Durvecky. I knew he lost his arm to cancer, but I didn't know what he went through; it is an inspiring story, it brought tears to my eyes, I cherish my signed SF Giants cap even more after reading about his strength and determination in fighting the cancer that ended his pitching career. .

We bought  Great Giants Stories Every Young Fan Should Know  for our son, a young Giants fan. As an added bonus, we thoroughly enjoyed it ourselves!This book chronicles the history of the New York/San Francisco Giants in a fun way. It focuses on the colorful characters and the ups and downs of the franchise told via anecdotes (e.g. How did the Giants get their name?) that testify to the homework performed by the authors. There are baseball numbers to lend context, but the emphasis is on the stories not the stats.The writing is clear and accessible, good for the target audience.Thanks to the authors for spinning this entertaining yarn about our favorite team! If they are so inclined: There is room on our son's bookshelf for more of the same.

The part added since the 2010 seemed rushed, and the chronology didn't flow like the rest of the book. Still, great stories that every Giants fan should know.

This is a home run. Bought as a gift for a bug giants fan kid and he loved the book.

My 9 year old and I read a chapter each night. It's great historical background info about the Giants and written in a fun and interesting way.

This was the perfect birthday gift for my favorite 10 year old Giants fan! Has a very interesting collection of stories.

Both my 10 yo and 12 yo really enjoyed this book. It gave them a history to appreciate as well to be able to read about the teams they'd been watching on tv the past few years. Exactly the right amount of book for elementary/middle school.

I bought this book for my son to encourage him to read more. It did the job! I have yet to read it, but he has taken it to school with him and he came back home telling me that the book is very interesting.
