Will there be a book 3?
Read book 1 and just finished this one. There are so many unanswered questions and unfinished characters. What happened to the plastic surgeon for one thing! I was honestly startled when the book ended. I thought my kindle edition had been cut off accidentally.

Southern Fiction That Grabs Your Heart
I am in love with this book, well truthfully with all Beth Duke’s books, but this is my favorite. Beth has captured the true essence of the beautiful mountains, rolling hills and valleys, and the lakes of NE Alabama, the place where my soul lives. I could not put this book down. It touched me in a way that few books do. I read for about 15 hours straight, only stopping when absolutely necessary and then only for a few minutes. The storyline grabbed me immediately and held on. What a talent is found in Beth Duke. If you love Southern Literature, you are going to adore this book.

Another Home Run for Beth Duke
I knew when I purchased "Don't Shoot Your Mule"(DSYM)that Beth Duke was "red hot" at the conclusion of Delaney's People and would in all probability produce another power-packed book with an economy of words within a flood of emotions more often seen in poetry or the masterworks of the days before word processing than generally available today. What I did not expect was that her writing would be every bit as captivating as when she was "that great new find" from North, Alabama. As indicated by others who reviewed DSYM, I feel a kinship to these people who are great, flawed individuals and though I loved the feeling of relating to her characters and their predicaments, I never once felt that she was plowing old ground. Thank you, Beth, for letting the world see again that you are a delightful proof that solid, Southern literature remains with us and is as vibrant as ever.

I chose this rating because it kept my interest throughout! She brought out some interesting situations people get themselves into accidentally. Surely your sins will find you out!

The Best!!
Ask and you shall receive.....what a great follow up for "Delaney's People". I loved how Mrs. Duke brought it all together and how she keeps the roots running deep. Nothing like Alabama red clay to bring children up right.
