Keeps temp never have to adjust
I love that this keeps the temperature and I don’t have to worry about it ever changing. There is a red light that comes on when it’s heating and the light goes off when it’s not. It’s small and effective!

Good
This is a good heater, but have had a couple issues. This is my second one. The first one worked great, but after a few months, it stopped working. I ordered a new one, and this one keeps shutting off even though the water isn't that warm. Maybe it's on purpose, because it shuts off around 80 degrees, but I swear the first one heated warmer. My ideal would be about 82 degrees.

Works great
Brought my tank from ambient temperature of 71-73 degrees to the preset 76-78 degrees. It works perfectly and the fish do seem to perk up more in the warmer water. Easy to attach to the tank and is low profile enough that it’s not an eyesore. Completely silent which is really nice

Great product but there is a catch
Aqueon is a trusted brand in the aquarium industry. This heater is very convenient because it is preset and has safety features built in. I bought it to maintain temperature in my betta fish tanks but came to find out that it only works correctly if your home is warm enough. To elaborate, the ambient temperature of your house needs to be 73 in order to get your tank to 78. I did not know this before I bought several of these and therefore, my tanks are not at the desired temperature. I feel that this is a design flaw or oversight and really wish that the brand would correct this. How many people really heat their houses to 73 in the winter? Unfortunately, I am unable to heat my house more than 65 degrees. I still use this heater anyway but my betta fish is not living in optimal conditions due to the way the heater was designed. If your house is above 73, I highly recommend this heater. Aqueon makes great products.

Presets are the best heaters!
After many years using aquarium heaters with thermostat control either directly on the heater or inline on the electric cord outside the tank I finally have heaters that last much longer! With the first type I have actually received an electrical shock at least once and these have the shortest life span. The second type the switch inevitably fails. These presets are at a quite reasonable temp setting for just about any kind of set up.

Worthless and disappointing
This is probably the most worthless accessory that I have bought for my aquarium. The product claims that it can keep up to 40 gallons of water heated at 78°. I have a 10 gallon aquarium and it will never heat above 76°. Even when I add freshwater to the aquarium, which is naturally lower temperature than the aquarium temperature should be, the red indicator light does not switch on indicating that the heater is heating the water. The red indicator light does come on every now and then, but not often enough as the product claims to heat the water. I now have to buy a new heater because this one has proved to be worthless. This has been a consistent issue since the start. I kept thinking it would get better but it hasn’t. I’m very disappointed.

Works well
It turns on and heats the tank well! Good size and it looks nice! Using it in my temporary tank to house my rescue fish!

Shatter proof is a must
I like how low profile it is against my corner overflow in my rimless 60gal. The fact that it's shatter proof is reassuring as well.

Amazing
I was shocked about how good this item is.When it first came, I thought it would overheat my tank, but I had to give it a try.So when I placed the heater in, the suction was pretty secure! I was surprised by this, because lots ofheaters' suction power does not stick well.It gets better and better! I turned on the heater and I saw the red light. I waited for a few more minutes and the light went down. At first, I thought I didn't plug the cable well, but after a while, I realized it was actually controlling the temperature in the tank. Amazing! It turned on and off, on and off. Then I checked the temperature in the tank. It was perfect!Overall, this heater is a solid 5 star!

good but dont like that
it is a good product, but i don't like preset heater beause it is pre set XD it do his thing perfectly thaugh and it is compact but i didn't see it so... im stuck whit it.... is ok but don't like that and i didn't want to get all the trouble to send them backlolllll *because if you have diseases, algue or itch you will have to get temp. higher or lower in order to solve that and whit that you can't...

Highly Recommend!
This Aqueon heater is great. I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to maintain their tank water at 78°F. I have the 100W heater in my 20 gallon long tank, and the 50W one in my 5 gallon tank. They are sufficient enough that the temperature in either tank never drops below 77.9°F. Keep in mind that the ambient room temperature impacts the effectiveness of the heater, so choose the wattage wisely. During the summer, the heaters in my tanks never turn on because the tanks hover between 80-81°F.

Something to think about
As a follow up to my previous review. While the heater is fine and the preset leaves some worry out it being turned down/up by accident - BUT, I wasn't even thinking about this issue at the time as I'm sure a lot of people aren't, I had an Ich breakout in my tank a few days ago. Can't/don't want to use the numerous chemical treatments or the salt method as i have a few scale less fish. One a Zebra Pleco which is a fairly expensive fish . Plus I have a fully planted tank. So, the only other (and the most effective way) is to turn the heat up. Can't do that with this. Sooo today I had to go out and spend another 40.00 on an adjustable heater. Most aquarists will have a disease go through their tank at sometime and Ich is the easiest one to cure, IF you can turn the heat up.
