Stokes Select Mesh Screen Bird Feeder with Metal Roof, Green, 4.4 lb Seed Capacity

I am on my second feeder. The first one gets so many visitors, I wanted to get another. This feeder is very sturdy, somehow it got knocked off the hanger on my second story deck. The mesh got bent, but the top and bottom still latch on tightly.This feeder is a breeze to clean and fill.It attracts a really wide variety of birds and yes, squirrels too. The mesh ensures that after it rains the feed dries out quickly. There are never clumps of seed in the feeder. Highly recommend this feeder to all.

I had to laugh at the review when the buyer said he was mad because the birdseed fell out through the holes. This feeder is not for wild bird seed it is for sunflower seeds. I use the oil type which is mostly what seems to be available.This holds a lot of seeds and keeps the birds happy for a long time. Both the bottom and the top unscrew to open, but I find it easier to hang the feeder with a carabiner from the wire ad then take it down to fill it. Sometimes, it is difficult to get the top unscrewed when I have to reach up on my tip toes.I had another feeder (same company) that looks very much like it with a pole down the middle. I had to push the top up and hold it up with one hand while I tried to pour the feed in with the other hand. This feeder is much easier. The other feeder was fine, but now I use it for suet.Overall this is a very good feeder that all kinds of birds like to visit all day. I have been feeding birds here for many years so they know where to go. If you are new to birds you might have to wait awhile for a variety. They will come.

The good features are this feeder holds a lot of bird feed, is easy to fill because the opening is large, is easy to clean as both ends twist off, and is durable having a powder-coated finish. The not so good is the wire mesh is too fine. The bird seed rotted before the birds could get it out. We tried three different brands of black oil sunflower seeds and the problem was the same. I had to snip some of the wire mesh at the bottom to make bigger openings so the birds could pull the seeds out. Because this weakened the mesh, I used brass 1/2” grommets in the snipped holes to reinforce the openings. That worked well, but the feeder should have been manufactured that way. I still think it’s the best bird feeder I’ve tried, given it’s flaws.

This feeder was on my Wish List for a year, and I finally bought it this spring. It holds a lot of seed (4 lbs) so I don't have to refill it daily. The birds of all sizes love to cling to the mesh and grab a seed. It was easy to assemble and is easy to clean. I highly recommend this one. It is very sturdy and a great design.

Bought this for my Mother, because she is always complaining that she can't find a good strong metal bird feeder. This fit the bill perfectly, and she loves it. She still has issues with squirrels eating her bird feed but at least now they don't break the bird feeder.

This product is good - I've bought it in the past - but I ordered it twice recently and received a different birdfeeder both times. Obviously there is something wrong here with how Amazon has it listed and the vendor who sends you the product.

...and so do I! One of my feeders broke, and I couldn't fix it or find another just like it, so I tried this one. I really like it. It holds a good amount of seed. The tray is very easy to clean, even if the seed gets wet. The barrel is open, no posts or bars, and the lid just slides on. I love that birds can cling to it anywhere--I get up to 15 goldfinches at a time on it! I fill it with sunflower hearts. My only complaint is that the top is a little fussy to put back on after I fill the feeder. It has a sort of tongue and groove setup, and if the top isn't sitting just right before you turn it, it won't close properly. Just takes a few tries to get the feel of it.

Birds love feeder. My old feeder was half the size and needing to fill it up about everyday, but this feeder I only need to fill about every 3 days. I get black capped chickadees, finches, grosbeaks, woodpeckers and flickers that come to the feeder. Metal coating on roof and base slides snow and old seed right off. I use the black-oil sunflower seed. The metal feeder is good quality. I've purchased plastic style feeders in past and I was disappointed. Feeder was affordable. I have an older feeder same brand similar to this one that I've had for over 5 years and no issues. The aeration in base is good keeping seed dry.
