One would think that faith comes easy for someone who lives in a Monastery, prays every day, and lives a communal life. Well, yes, and no. I doubt anyone would disagree with this statement: “Life is hard”. It is also messy and usually does not run the way that I would want it to. So the road to a deeper faith and trust in God has many twists and turns. Yet as the years pass, and I get back up, I find that God was never ‘missing’ nor ‘absent’, but closer to me than my very soul.One day I was asked by a friend, who is an atheist, this question: “Don’t you think the very idea of a God who is invisible and infinite is absurd”. I thought about it and had to say: “Well yes, sometimes it can seem absurd, yet on further reflection, the thought that there is no God is even more absurd. We live in a world that is rational, run by laws that are packed with information. It screams intelligence to me. So my faith has grown in spite of doubts.”“I have come to show you that God exists”, is one of the first messages given by Our Lady of Medjugorje. Why, well because we need to be reminded of that reality. So it is with Maureen, she has gifts, many gifts, all to be used in the service of others, and also, to show that God exists.The story of her ongoing relationship with Jesus, Mary, and St. Michael is presented in very down to earth terms. She went through years of training to prepare her for her mission. The training will be familiar to all who seek to live a God-Centered, loving life. It is the death to self a thousand times a day. When we fail, we learn and move on.One lesson I have learned in this book, one I have to learn over and over again, is that God is in the little things, how we respond, and in those little, but very important responses, we can handle the big things.There are also healings, and down to earth teachings that anyone of any faith, or no faith, will find helpful. This book, Heaven’s Helper My Little Star is inspirational in so many ways. It teaches us that God sees us for who we are and still loves us! He knows our strengths and weaknesses and knows we can grow. He does not only approach only those who are already saints on earth. This is a story about an ordinary person, the author Maureen, whose life changed dramatically over time and amidst trials as God asked her to grow and learn how to be an instrument to help His people. Maureen tells of her own personality traits that seemed an impediment to God’s plans. But, despite setbacks, God never gave up on her. She herself had the free will to decline this work, but having committed, it was still a long trek. This is a lesson to us all. We fall, and we get back up. God waits.This book came into my life at a low point, and I can honestly say it is helping to renew my faith. I needed to hear again that we are all known and loved by God. He chose Maureen, a regular person, not a nun in a convent to help Him!Maureen works with God to provide healing, discernment and knowledge to a sad, lonely, sick world. Because God wants us well, happy and eventually with Him. The underlying theme is Great Love. Less anger, more love, forgiveness and trust in God. You will be inspired to begin anew when you read this amazing book. I came by the book seemingly… by happenstance. Yet, I was struck by the feeling that I was MEANT to read it. I wonder if you will feel the same?

I feel I have started to know God and it’s a fulfilling sense that I know my spirit was seeking without me knowing it outright. I couldn’t put the book down and am disappointed it ended. Thank you for the love, grace and inclusion I now feel! God bless!

I do not know how or what to write about this precious book, as all these reviewers beautifully did. I found HOPE, among all the suffering, whether, mental, physical and/or spiritually! I found LOVE towards me and my loved ones! I found FORGIVENESS of my sins, shortcomings and faulty character! I found myself HOPING that through all I read, HEALING and JOY will follow so very soon! This is what Maureen's story has given me. How beautiful to know that I can talk to my Lord Jesus, Mother Mary, St. Michael and all our Heavenly Family as I speak with my friends; simple, without worry that I am speaking too casual. Please read this book, it will be one of the greatest gifts you can give to yourself...I promise!Maureen, thank you for writing this book with such simplicity, yet full of the powerful message our Heavenly Family has for us. I read this book because I had an experience several years ago when my father-in-law came to me the day he passed. There have been a lot of people that were skeptical about my experience and I knew that I was not sleeping, dreaming or whatever else people chalked it up to be. I absorbed this book page by page. This book to me was more of a journal of her life’s experiences. It is written with a true recollection of her struggles with the spiritual world, good and evil. Everyone in life has a hurdle or struggle that brings them closer to God. I believe that this journey she is on is her struggle and it is heartfelt to hear in her own words how difficult, yet rewarding her gift has been. This book has testimonies from several Priests as well as a well known author that has authenticated her stories. It is a must read for people that are of a black and white state of mind. There truly is an afterlife as this book states. This book will not disappoint.

This is a story of an ordinary hard-working woman who responds to God’s offer of help with desperation, grit & zest for life. Her experiences open a window into the delicate, unending & unfazed love that God pours into our lives through Jesus, his mother Mary & his angels. If you are looking for insight in hard times, or for something to believe in, read this book.

I recommend this book to anyone who wishes to deepen their faith in Jesus and His Blessed Mother. And even more to any soul who feels as though they have lost their faith. God is real and loves and cares for you as if you were the only person in the world. This book will strengthen your desire to return that love.
