This is actually my first time reading a novel that was based from a famous movie, and not the other way around. I usually "read the book first before watching the movie" like when it comes to the Twilight Saga, but then, since the movie came first BEFORE the novel, I guess I had no choice but to break that personal rule just this once. I guess that's why I wanted to purchase the book. I was surprised to find out that there was a book on that famous movie so I was curious to see how Eric Wilson manage to make a novel out of it.And I was definitely NOT disappointed.I had so much reading the book that I couldn't put it down. As a result, I managed to finish it in one day. No joke. What I love about it is the fact that it stayed true to the movie. The lines, the words, the fight of the husband and wife, the heart to heart talk with Caleb and his father, and as well with his best friend Michael... Wilson truly stayed true to the essence of the story, adding a couple of scenes to make it richer and more entertaining to read. The best part of this book, I would say, is the part wherein the mother was playing in the Wheel of Fortune, where in the chapter ends with a big BIG surprise for Caleb. And that surprise is something he truly deserves after making a big move to save his marriage with Catherine.I don't think I disliked or hated any part in the book. I absolutely loved every part. It's so amazing how Wilson constructed this book to definitely complement the movie. It really centers on how Caleb struggled to save his marriage even if at first, he was doing a really lousy job at it. Admittedly, he really wasn't doing a good job at first and that's because he was doing it for the wrong reasons and the wrong motives. And his father was right. How could he give the best kind of love, if he didn't have the Lord in his life, where in it is the Lord who IS love at its very nature, at its very core. When he finally realized this by the grace of God, he managed to finally strive to save his marriage for the right reasons and the right motives and mindset that in the end, even Catherine wanted to be like him because of how much he's changed.I would definitely buy this book again if given the choice, and maybe I'd give it to a friend as a gift. I lent my copy to my bestfriend and she loved it as much as I did. It's A BOOK WORTH READING. Yes, 5 stars for you, Eric Wilson, great job!!!

I love the books from this author and would recommend them to anyone. They are Christian-based, but have a very "real" story line. All books from this author are so interesting, that I don't want to put them down and finish the book wanting more of the story line. Perfect for adult or teens. No bad language and the story lines are wholesome and about things that are going on in today's society.

Had some extra labels but were easy to remove. It came fast and was in great condition, smooth, almost brand new! It was a great relief to finally find one of my all-time favorite books in great condition.

This was a good book. I have seen the movie several times, and I want to hear the book or read. And they say true to the pages. It is a book about not focusing on the things of this world. And focusing on what's important. Those you love and God.

Catherine and Caleb both seemed miserable at the beginning of this story and it was leading to divorce papers quickly. Neither was listening to the other on what they wanted or needed. Caleb was to interested in getting a boat and whatever it was he was watching on the computer. Catherine had noticed that a new doctor at work showed interest in her so she decided to encourage him in his maneuvers. But the kicker was that Caleb didn’t really want a divorce. So when his father asked him to look at something for 40 days that might help him in his marriage he agreed. The book his father sent him gave him suggestions on what to do that day to keep his wife. At first Caleb thought the whole thing as a joke but after a conversation with his father he realized the crux of the whole thing was loving Jesus. Once he did that he could apply that same love to his wife and his marriage. Most people want want to read this book cause of the religious factor but in fact this is a love story with a little sprinkling of religion. So take a chance and read a love story that shows the power of love in the most sincere way.

Alex Kendrick, his family, and his church know how to create a drama. You do not have to be a Christian to enjoy this book (or the video). I absolutely love the stories and the life changing lessons revealed through all of the books and videos created by Alex and his crew. They spend one whole season praying about the next subject of their book/video before discussing ideas. Hollywood would love to have Alex Kendrick join them...his last movie made approximately 35 million.Kirk Cameron and the rest of the crew (professional and non-professional actors) did an amazing job on the movie. I've known a few people who have actually followed The Love Dare and their marriages have been saved thanks to the movie, book, and Love Dare daily guide for your marriage.If for nothing else, just watch it for the entertainment. I'm sure you will end up needing a tissue or two (a box...lol).

This is a great book. I've read it before and decided to purchase it for a friend. In addition, I purchased the Kindle version for myself. It just helps you when you feel like your time in marriage is difficult. I've been married for 20 years and it's always nice to know that you can look back at this book for some guidance. It reminds you of how you fell in love with your significant other. It hits you in the heart and makes you take notice of your partner. 20 years is a long time but you can become lazy in a relationship. I feel like we all do this at some time or another. Reading this book puts things back into perspective.

The loves dare, how I am grateful for meeting this! This book will forever be one of my favorite and if I ever have a wife someday, I'll know how to treat her, under God's love.

I have read this book a million times and every time I shed a couple of tears. It is brilliant and I think every single person should read it once. Regardless of the religion in it. The religion isn't there to push other religions away, but rather aid the story in a beautiful way that you can fix problems. The word fireproof itself is a nice wordplay and can be seen in many different ways and it is up to the reader itself to chose how they want to see it. The christian religion is very deeply routed here, but it's not overwhelming. Personally I think that even if you have another religion or no religion at all, this book should still be read.

A thought provoking film and book about relationships. The old fireman's adage: "Never leave your partner behind" applies to our relationship with our partner/spouse. The film and book looks at the basic principles behind good relationships - and the director's commentary to the film is excellent and worth listening to and not preachy. It's so very difficult to have a healthy relationship with our partner/spouse if we do not have a relationship with God. Do watch the film. There is an associated study guide for you and your partner to work through together. The film mixes action, thoughtful dialogue and humour in a lovely way. So the film is not Hollywood - and none the worse for that. Holywood can portray evil so easily but has more difficulties portraying those trying to follow the spiritual path. I loved the film and am currently reading the book.

Dieser Film bringt mich jedes mal wieder erneut zum Weinen, er ist wirklich sehr gut gemacht! Die Story ist nicht abgedreht, sondern realistisch. Was ist aber nun das Besondere an diesem Film? Es ist die Art und Weise, wie mit Problemen umgegangen wird. Klar ist es herausfordernd mit Liebe auf Vorwürfe zu antworten und mit Hoffnung auf Wut. Es zeigt, wie Gott möchte, dass wir in jeder Beziehung leben.Wichtig: bitte den Film unbedingt auf Englisch und wenn nötig mit Untertiteln schauen. Das Englisch ist einfach und gut zu verstehen. Die Duetsche Übersetzung ist leider nicht gut gelungen.
