A little textbook-ish ...
Great commentary, but a little long winded and makes you feel like you signed up for a college class. I purchased for small group bible study, to intense for that, in my opinion. Probably much better for in-depth personal study (or Sunday School adult class). Very well done and very intense!

Easy to read study with historical context
Gives quality historical context while assisting in bringing scripture to light. Also enjoyed other books in this series, particularly the gospels

Excellent Bible Study Material
Our Bible study at church selected this. I knew Wright was a bible scholar, as well as an Anglican Bishop, just a little to the right of center theologically (as I consider Marcus Borg a bit to the left of center). What I didn't realize is the humor with which he writes at times, making this book of the Bible so applicable to the church and to Christians today. The Bible study class has enjoyed it so much that we unanimously decided to continue with Part 2. Though it seems to be divided into chunks that are easily read and perused in a day, our study only manages to get through about 3 of them per week, as they provide so much food for thought and conversation. We don't always agree with Wright, and sometimes check his translation with one of the standard translations of the Bible (they always coincide, of course) - but we never run out of conversation about this book!

" It is definitely a study guide but is easy mistaken for "Acts for Everyone
This book goes through each chapter of the book of Acts in sections. After reading the actual scripture passage the author, who is extremely gifted in knowledge of the books of the Bible, gives a modern day explanation and insight of the section. There is two paperback books written by N. T. . Wright. The first book cover chapter 1 through 12 and the second book covers Chapters 13 through 28. We use it as a group bible study at our church but it certainly is exceptional for independent reading. Do not order "ACTS- 24 studies for individuals and groups." It is definitely a study guide but is easy mistaken for "Acts for Everyone."

Great Commentary.
Great insight and perspective on the Book of Acts. NT Wright has a balanced view of the Holy Spirit and creates a beautiful, grace filled and realistic view of the early church or Ekklesia through the eyes of the author, Luke. I recommend this commentary as an educational and inspiring read.

Fantastic
I am slowly buying these one book at a time as I read through the new testament. Love the way it explains and brings the bible to life. As all of NTs books are, this is a fantastic read and resources.

Good Read
This was a good book for the class I was taking, and I would definitely recommend it to other profs who don't use it to use it for their classes that talk about the book of Acts!
