Malcolm X: By Any Means Necessary (Scholastic Focus)

It is written excellently and presents a full picture of his life. It is an easy read with good photos. Great for use with students!

My son enjoyed it

I love this book. The first book I ever read on Malcolm X as an kid. First time ever seeing a picture of his parents way before the internet!

My son and I discussed the civil rights movement at length and when his teacher wanted the class to do a report on a civil rights activist, I wanted him to go beyond the standard MLK. So since he is a mature 12yr old, I read the other reviews and took a chance on introducing him to the more complex character of Malcolm X. My son is not a big reader but this one he couldn't put down. It also gave us alot to talk about in ref to evolving as a person. Changing opinions and positions and what are the costs involved with that. I strongly recommend this book.

THis is a good book for adolescent readers. I enjoyed it however it is meant for young adults. It lacks the detail you would find in an autobiography or a biography written for adult readers. However, very good in givingthe history and general information of this man and the happenings of the era.

This is an excellent book about Malcolm X. I read the autobiography but still learned many details about Malcolm that I didn't know. It is well written and I recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning about Malcolm X.

Great version for teens…my 13 yo can’t put it down and it includes pictures

This is a great and inspirational book. If you have the opportunity please read it as it will open your eyes to the other side of the world.

This is a short but thoroughly engrossing look at the life of Malcolm X. Even if you don't follow his beliefs, it is fascinating to see what motivated this extraordinary man and to look at the times he lived in. This book has all the basic information you could want, as well as quotes from his autobiography and plenty of pictures to satisfy everyone. My son and daughter loved it. They were, already, familiar with Malcolm X and his life, etc., but they, really, enjoyed the narrator.

Fantastic insight into the life of this man, occasionally going of on tangents about related subjects you really get the all round feel of the time
