Want to live more sustainably? Start here.
Super accessible guide packed with useful info and great tips on how to start making the small changes that many of us want to make but often make us feel a bit overwhelmed. Despite being Uk focussed the tips and suggestions are still very relevant wherever you live. Jens writing style is down to earth and honest. I’m zooming through the book now but know I’ll be picking it up on a regular basis to keep me focussed on becoming more sustainable (ish).

It takes an overwhelming subject and makes it attainable!
Jen tackles the subject matter like she’s your friend standing there with you, offering fabulous ways to make your life more sustainable! You will feel motivated not overwhelmed...which doesn’t happen with many books on this topic. Thanks for writing this book!

Sadly misleading chapter on plastics
The plastics chapter is full of clear misinformation meaning that it is disproven by hundreds of peer-reviewed articles. It is a real shame because we need solid information if we want to make sensible choices for a better future.

Fantastic, packed with ideas
I really enjoyed this. It’s full of great ideas that are clearly explained and very straightforward to action. Jen’s writing style is wonderful, it’s not dry at all. She makes living a more sustainable life more accessible and is forgiving about the areas you feel you really struggle with. Her Facebook page and Sustainable(ish) Clubhouse are also brilliant - being part of a community of people all working on becoming greener is both energising and forgiving of human imperfections. Book and group very highly recommended.

great read
very good read, lovely sense of humor. Very interesting. We have implemented a few things and think before picking up certain things in the shops. So enjoyable!

Really accessible
The premise for this book is fantastic - we don't have to do it all perfectly. It has chapters on the key topics with lots of bullet point suggestions. This makes it really easy to use the book as a reference guide but equally it is one you could read cover to cover. I love that I can go back and find what I am looking for really easily. It is an absolute treasure trove of resources and ideas - loads of links to websites. It is one of the few books on the subject of sustainability that doesn't leave you feeling really down on yourself. It's one of those books I leave in the smallest room and find people are intrigued and learn something - much easier than preaching about recycling etc! It is the perfect tool for sneaky activism!

A Bible for those of use wanting to be more sustainable
At first I wasn't sure about this book. Suggesting people buy extremely expensive clothes seemed very middle class, and being out of the reach of most people, like it wasn't going to help things very much.I changed my mind though. The author makes a huge point of saying 'buy less, but if you do hsve to buy, buy better'. Sure, £200 jeans aren't options for a lot of people, but charity shops are.Basically I think she makes manageable for people a lot of really big issues that can people off as they don't know where to start and it feels like a drop in the ocean. Its a great read, very useful and accessible and I highly recommend it. Very good in the e-format as well as its easy to click the links to products and websites.

Good ideas to get me started
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book which has numerous ideas and suggestions on how to live a more sustainable way of life. I must admit it will take a long time to adopt many of the ideas and change our way of life but as the author does stress 'simply do it one step at a time' which is certainly the best method. I found I was very naïve on how the Charity shops have to deal with the goods they have deposited on their doorsteps and it has made me reassess on how I will buy new items in the future. I read the book a couple of months before Covid19 struck our shores and it has helped me to manage the stress of dealing and buying food and daily essentials.
