Nice grippy handle plus has a serrated edge to cut through stuff.

The scoop makes digging holes, filling pots, and transplanting a much easier job. No more dirt falling back into the hole or pot. The serrations my be useful too, but I don't find time of much use with roots and the like., but does good on grasses and weeds. Good handle, comfortable, solid construction. I expect to get a long life from it.

I've used a soil knife for years to transplant seedlings, but this soil scoop is a joy. I can scoop soil from the transplant hole so easily, as before the knife let most fall into the hole. Now I don't have to use my hand as a soil scoop anymore. Very well designed and solid construction. My new favorite tool!

Package arrived quicker than the estimate given by Amazon. First the grip on this is very comfortable, I haven't used it very much, but I just played around with it in my flower bed when it first arrived. It cut into the soil very easily, the serrated edges easily cut out some grassy patches and a few weeds. It feels like a quality tool and it felt good to buy something that is actually made in America.

Best one I have ever owned. So easy to use and doesn't hurt my wrist. Makes my planting more efficient, too!
