The Ultimate French Review and Practice, Premium Third Edition

Great book for reviewing French grammar. It was really thorough and pretty complete. I liked how it had practice questions for almost every section, even if I didn't do all of them. The app that it came with is pretty garbage though. It only had a few sets of flashcards and I remember being frustrated at how unhelpful it was. The quizzes were also bad. It would have been nice to have better flashcards and more opportunities to hear the words in context.

French class

A very useful grammar book, especially if you're reviewing the French you already learned.HOWEVER:1. The chapters are not organized logically; you have to look at 2 or 3 chaptersto get all the information on the same subject i.e. everything pertaining to the subjunctive.2. The book needs a good editor who knows French. The author tries (I think) to be concisebut he could really have condensed a lot of the information into shorter and clearer explanations.A good teacher makes even complicated material seem clear and easy. This is not necessarilythe case here.

This is an excellent book! I used it for my Advanced French Grammar course and it was very helpful. For those who want to review their French, this book has everything you need to know about French grammar (nothing is excluded) It's also affortable compared to other books or workbooks that teach you the same content. It has great exercises with an anser key on the back to check your work. Within the chapters, there's vocabulary lists of verbs, words and phrases. I would also highly recommend this book for those who are interested in learning the French language. :) Bon courage tout le monde!

The "language lab" and "total grammar study program" that I was expecting was an oral part where I could learn how to pronounce the French language. Alas, there was none of this. The online part involved flashcards, fill in the blanks, and written tests. There was NO oral part. The book itself does have exercises that you can complete and check the answers at the back of the book. It also does a nice job of explaining some of the grammar rules. However, the ad did imply that there was an oral component. There was not.

This is one of the best books of review exercises that I've found. The grammar explanations are thorough and very clear and I've found it to be a really good supplement to my French classes. I found my in class experiences were much better once I started supplementing my studying and homework with this review.

It's a good book. Very good with grammar actually. The problem is that I find pronunciation and listening just as important a part of learning as writing. These two former parts of speech are only found on the app as questions. This makes it very complex for a beginner to learn with and boring too.

fantastic book, arrived very quickly, great quality

I bought this book for additional instructions while also taking an online course. I find the exercises challenging and fun - many reference cultural scenarios which make the review more interesting. I do the exercises in MS Word files so I don’t need to mark up the book. I haven’t noticed any issues or inaccuracies with the exercises and solutions and I find good hints that help me remember the grammar rules. There is also a FREE online quiz and review app to match the book.

Wanted to review my French grammar with a view to improving my written work. Found it to be more of a textbook without the guidance required to explain the why of the excercises

Is great for beginners and everyone else also. If you already know quite a bit of French this book will still help you improve, and if you are a beginner it will help even more. I am in IB grade 11 and this book has helped a lot to become fluent in French.
