Not particularly responsive customer service.
Fjallraven.. I'll be willing to bet that the US branch for this brand will be dead sooner than later. The clothing is nice but not $150 nice for a pair of pants. The fabric is great. I have a few garments by Fjallraven. However it seems that they have fallen down the way of other giant clothing brands and sold out to make money. Everything is made in China and in Vietnam. Not a single garment is Swedish made. Customer service is bad. I got a pair of pants shipped to me that was missing an entire button. The top was there, but nothing to snap it to. Had this been another outdoor outfitter, I'd call them and it would be instantly replaced. Fjallraven wants me to send them the garment at MY cost, then they will repair or whatever they do and send it back.. So you're saying I have to pay to get it fixed?? Didn't I already pay to buy the product?? Shouldn't YOU have quality checked them prior to shipping?? Yeah.. That's what I thought. Not buying any more Fjallraven clothing. I'll go back to my other reputable foreign made brands. The attached photo shows the missing male side of the button.

Fabric is amazing. Very wind resistant with factory wax job
After seeing so many knowledgeable outdoorsmen singing the praises of Fjallraven pants I decided that when the stars lined up I’d snag a pair and see for myself. Waited to find a pair on reduced price and pulled the trigger.Pockets really well thought out. Fabric is amazing. Very wind resistant with factory wax job, but still soft and comfortable.Fit was good. I’m 6’3”, 205, 37” actual waist measurement, 33-34” inseam. I ordered the size 54 long. Perfect fit. Legs just “baggy” enough to not pull tight when I engage the cuff elastic and the gaiter clip on my boots.I've now used these pants numerous times over the last few months, mostly while hiking into remote areas for trail maintenance. My biggest complain is that the rise is low...which is sadly popular these days. Low rise pants may look hip at the club, but put on a pack and cinch up the waist belt and shortly your pants are heading south. Pants that are designed for outdoor activities should have a high rise so that a pack belt rides ON the top of the pants rather than ABOVE them. I'm seriously considering hacking the belt loops off and adding a three inch band of poly/cotton with belt loops and a new snap closure to the top edge of the pants. That being said, the pocket placement and size is really great. I get a lot of use from the hatchet pocket. The cuff hooks and adjustments are well thought-out and functional.Overall I really want to love the pants, but with the hipster fit I can only manage a "like", and probably will not consider purchasing again.

Top rated in Croatia
I like these pants. Yes, they're awfully expensive, but they look really cool, fit well, and are comfortable and practical. I was turned onto Fjallraven by hikers and hunters in the mountains of Croatia, who swear by them for rugged outdoor wear. Lots of very sharp rocks in the Croatian mountains. I can't go with a five-star rating yet since I can't report on how well they will hold up, but the Croatians insist they are the only thing they'll wear for serious work in the mountains. Who am I to question a Croatian?

Review - size and other stuff
I have only one dislike - the metal "button" that closes the waist. When it is snug, the button is twisted to the side and that makes one side of the portion of the button that attaches to the pants angle into my waist. Better with a sewn on button. That said, yes the pants are super tough. More pockets than I can use, but having no back pockets takes getting used to. They have fixed the previously reported problem of the lace hook at the bottom of each trouser leg grabbing the occasional toenail when pulling the trousers on by reversing the hook AND recessing it into a little hidden pouch. The material does pick up some cat hair, but it wipes off easily. I have never waxed pants. As these pants come out of the package, most water beads up and runs off.I am 6 foot tall, weigh 208 with a moderate belly. I wear 36x32 Levi jeans (which are a bit tight). The Vidda Pro 54mm Regular fits me very nicely. I was surprised that the pant legs may be an inch longer than needed, since one youtu.be reviewer about my height/weight said he preferred the Long length. I also have a pair of Barents 52mm which are TOO SMALL in the waist for me to comfortably wear without unbuttoning the metal waist button and relying on the belt. When I test while riding my bicycle, I will update.

Built to last
Love these trousers. Great pockets, built to last, very clever retractable straps to tighten the bottom of the legs. The laces hooks are useful, and the pockets very well though out. I especially like the absence of rear pockets which I never use anyway. If you're doing a mountain in bad weather you have the waxing option. But for most normal stuff there's no need for faffing around with wax as they dry so quickly.I have a 32 leg and the long version are best, a touch too long but better than the regular length. Euro size 46 is good for a 31 inch waist. If you avoid the two colour combos they are smart enough to wear about town.Excellent all round trousers

Outstanding.
I'm 6ft and got the long version but they are a bit too long, so bear that in mind. I think you'll need to be 6'2" for the long. Thankfully you can turn them up so not a bother for me. They are slightly water resistant out of the bag, but wont stand up to prolonged kneeling on saturated ground, so if you are going to do that, get the Greenland Wax applied first, then they are completely waterproof. The dark olive colour is closer to brown than green in the cold light of day, but that is fine by me.They are comfy, stitching seems excellent, pockets everywhere, and seem made to last a lifetime. I suspect my knee joints will wear out before these trousers do.

Not cheap but worth every penny. Updated review
Brilliant trews, well made, nice fit (6’4”, 34" Waist, bought 50 Long).I've had these since January and am extremely happy with them. I purchased them for a work trip in the Cairngorms, we were working right up to the snow line (higher than usual) and with a pair of thermals underneath they were comfy and warm in freezing temperatures with windchill. My legs stayed dry during any showers, no I had need to break out the waterproof trousers.Today we were walking in the woods around our village, T-shirt weather, and the trousers are breathable enough to prevent my legs getting too hot and tough enough to cope with brambles and dense undergrowth.Highly recommended, not cheap but as they say, "Buy cheap, buy twice".

Best walking trousers ever!
I must say that I love these trousers, was abit sceptical at first because of the price but all doubt was removed once I had got them on.There are loads of pockets and the adjustment around the bottom of the legs is fantastic. They are good in all weather but if you so desire you can wax them to make them 100% waterproof at the expense of them being less breathable and then wash them to remove the wax if your not expecting heavy rain and want them to be cooler and more breathable. Best walking trousers I have ever bought. Fantastic!
