Good price
These definitely feel cheap but they are cheap. You get two for a low price. Yes they are lower quality compared to other brands but they work just as they are suppose to. My four year old has been playing with hers for about two weeks now and it’s still working. I would buy again.

Low contrast, review edited
Everything works as it should but writing is very low contrast dark blue on dark gray so not striking. Oddly, I took a photo with my iPhone to post but the contrast was much higher in the photo than it was looking at the device itself. So the fairly high contrast images in the illustrations are probably artifacts of photographing these devices. I don’t think anyone meant to mislead, it’s just that when you use them the marks you make on the screen don’t stand out anything like the photos you see in the description. The erase button works as it should. I got these for the kids (2 & 5) so we’ll see what they think of them. For the price (2 for $14.99) they are worth trying but if you expect to write and have it stand out, well, that’s not going to happen.Later: Well, the kids love these pads. The lack of contrast doesn’t seem to bother them at all. I’ve increased my rating to “5 star” because I did get these as toys for the kids and for that, they’re awesome. He price is great. The pads don’t consume power from the battery unless they are actually in the process of erasing so the drawings persist until erased. Then a minute bit of power from the battery puts the pad ready for a fresh drawing. He pads are thin and lightweight. The pens store in the holder molded into the frame. Anyway buy them as toys. If you plan other uses, expect low contrast.

Works great but can be hard to see what you write
The pictures in the add make it look like the lines are bright and well defined, they are not and it there is not much light the lines are practically invisible.I wanted it to leave morning messages for my daughter in hopes she would leave one for me before going to school on this fun little device with quick erase. The quick erase is kind of cool but it's all or nothing, if you make a mistake you either leave it or start over. And unless there is a bright light, it can be hard to see what is written.I'd say good for kids to doodle on when bored but not really good for communicaing.

These doodle boards are so useful. Like a chalkboard, but better, because there's no chalk.
Our family uses these all the time. Easy to lock and unlock the board so you can add or preserve text. Once unlocked it's easy to erase with the push of a button. We use them to keep track of todo list, scoring card games, and leave each other messages. Cheap, fun, and not internet connected, best of everything.

Difficult to read off without lots of light
These Tablets are not backlit, you'll need to make sure you're in a room with adequate overhead lighting in order to see what you're writing. So if you're giving this to your child to draw on in the backseat during a late night drive they most likely wont be able to see what they're drawing at all.The ease of drawing is pretty good, but it honestly doesn't feel like this board will last long at all, it feels made of cheap plastic that will easily break and the screen feels like it would be easy to scratch and scuff up.It comes with a battery but its luck of the draw if your battery will be good in it. I had to buy a new battery for mine, which essentially tacked on an extra $5 for me. Battery type is a size 2016.The battery compartment is also held in by an extremely tiny screw, most people don't keep such a small specialty philips head screw driver, so that might be another possible expense. Opening the battery compartment is weird as well, there was no directions with my box and intuitively you'd think it would swing open from where you unscrew it, but nope there's another clasp on the other side you have to pinch to unlock it. Had to literally go back to the product page and find a picture of it being opened to see how.I also probably didnt read the product page close enough, when i read "8.5inch" i was thinking it was standard writing paper size. It's actually only 8.5inch long, and that's not a measurement of the screen length. Screen is closer to 6.5inch long, so it quite a small writing surface.I bought it for use with studying computer algorithms so i'll see how useful it is or if personally i'd need something larger. The "erase" button works great however, will immediately and completely clear the screen, and nicely there is a lock function to prevent any accidental erasing.

Great for kids or adults
Good to practice drawing or keep notes needed only temporarily. These have a lock/unlock switch that only disabled the erase switch. You can still mark on the lock screen. The implication is that power is only needed for erasures. I recommend getting a string or cord to attach the stylus to the device as you could easily misplace the stylus. I got the four pack; they are also available in ten packs.

surprisingly good
I've bought a few of these types of "jot" boards in the past. Most of them are faint and the supplied pens create too fine lines. This model is very clear, the pen flows smoothly across the board and you get very clear think lines. I found the contrast between the lines and board is very clear and easy to read. Surprisinlgy for the price, this is one of best models I've had so far.

For the price I can't go less stars but..
I mean come on its less than £3 but god is it flimsy and cheap plastic. It wouldn't work to start but once I messed about with the battery it started up.To be fair it's for my nephew who loves to scribble but I doubt it'll last a week.Me personally was thinking off getting 1 for the kitchen as a notepad for list's etc

The battery makes poor contact, but this can be restored.
I bought six of these writing tablets, thinking that maybe one of them might not erase properly if I was unlucky, judging by several reviews. So I was horrified to find that only two of them could be erased! On removing and testing the batteries of the other four, I found all were giving the full 3 volts.I found it very easy to get the battery misaligned in its tray when putting them back. One of them I had to try a second time, pushing the battery up slightly from underneath, to ensure that the rim of the battery stayed perfectly in contact with the edge of the tray all round as I slid it in.After this, all six are now working correctly. So anyone else experiencing this problem shouldn't give up too quickly.
