Bodhi Seed Prayer Beads Wrist Mala

A mala like this customarily has 27 beads in addition to the larger "guru" or "parent" bead. The one I received had only 26. This would be fine for jewelry, but for the sake of mantra repetition, you would need to remember to do one "extra" at the end of each cycle.

I have to say that I was genuinely surprised by the quality and appearance of this mala. It is simple and quite beautiful in it's own way. The beads are small but attractive and well spaced for japa. The cording is strong and also attractive. Overall the appearance is subdued and very elegant in a natural, tasteful way, especially given the low price. Many users of wrist malas wear them only as jewelry. This could be used for that, but for me I use it for japa and the feel, touch and spacing of the beads are almost perfect for mantra repetition.

The quality of the beads are sound with no cracks or breakages. The line work is excellent and easily adjustable for a wrist size up to probably 8 inches. The cord is adjustable but it is not a stretch cord so, if you have an extremely large wrist, you may consider something else. The 8 mm bead size doesn't appear dainty like the smaller 6 mm and not as cumbersome as the larger. It comes in a pouch and bubble-wrapped packaging.

I'm so happy that I ordered this. The beads are the perfect size and the bracelet is well made overall. It feels good on my wrist. Very lightweight and natural.
