Great gifts for friends, customers, family, etc. For use, first SLOWLY pull out plastic tab on back side of timer so battery engages and LED screen defaults to 0. (LED screen stays on permanently but with very little battery usage) Next push Stop/Start button and you can start an upward countdown, then press stop button to halt the countdown. The memory stores the last timer setting for quick repeat use. To reset screen to zero press "min" and "sec" buttons simultaneously. To set a predetermined countdown, press the "min" button down untill your desired number of minutes are reached and the do then same for the "sec" button if needed. Then press start button and countdown begins until zero seconds are achieved at which time the alarm will sound, and then you can press stop to turn off alarm. Display will reset to your programmed countdown for repeat timing, or you can reset it to zero by pressing "min" and "sec" buttons simultaneously. Comes packed with a commonly used alkaline AG10 button cell battery 1.5V (also labeled LR1130 by some brands). We like to keep our programmable digital kitchen timer with magnet attached to the refrigerator permanently so it is always handy as a cooking assistant. I use an additional timer to put in my pocket when barbecuing so it sounds off where ever I'm at when I need to monitor the grill. Warning * attaching to the barbecue may result in damage from heat or water if left outside in wet weather. Seriously, it can be used in dozens of applications and you can't beat the price even if you want to purchase more than just one.

Poorly Made
Bought a black timer just like this and loved it - wanted a second one to time two dishes at once. This one works 20% of the time. Unfortunately, I'd like to know when my food should be done 100% of the time.

Easy to use
We use this as a toothbrush timer for my 5 year old. Easy to use. Would definitely buy again
