Absolutely Amazing Art! Fun, Inspiring Read!
All I can say is that prior to reading this book I "thought" I knew all there was to the whole "ballpoint art thing." I was completely wrong. This book is pretty awesome. The beautiful and insightful presentation of the works and the apparent deep background effort that went into its development shows. It can be a bit "wordy" in the well intending descriptions of the works and artists themselves, but that fact doesn't degrade the amazing work being done with the once lowly ballpoint pen or the value of the insightful nature of the writing. Great exploration of the medium and the many vastly differing approaches to art creation that can be expressed either directly or in concert with the ballpoint pen. Fun, inspiring read. Good job Matt Rota!

Unreadable-=-Kindle version
This is just a scanned copy of the book and you can't read it. No matter how much I tried I could not increase the size of words. Returned it.

I’ve always loved ball-point pens
I’ve always loved ball-point pens, and I like the history that’s been included in the book. The art included is inspiring, and a good lesson on how I can get my own style as I learn!

Excellent tutorial
I’ve been fascinated with using ballpoint pens for drawing for quite some time. I think the work of Richard Johnson (News Illustrator) has spurred me on and I’d love to have his skill. I also recognised the challenges of using ballpoint. This book is almost square - 21½ by 25½ cm – and contains 160 pages. The book is split into six main sections – Overview & History, Contemporary Classical, Contemporary Abstraction, Illustration & Design, Sketchbook Art and Contemporary Realism. Some of the work in here is unbelievable and I aspire to reaching that level of quality. Apart from that the book is loaded with really good instruction from the most basic tasks to real complexity. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to try something different.

Not inspired and disillusioned
This book claims that "throughout this book ballpoint techniques are demonstrated through stepped-out excercises in shading etc etc." I found this was only evident in the first 20% of the book. The remainder 130 pages left me very disallusioned as it appeared to be an advertising exercise by a group of artists by way of showing off their personal view of what they thought art was. I did not "Glide" through this book and I certainly was not "Inspired" by it. I would rather have given my £12 to a local charity.

Ball Point Pen Art at its finest.
Great little book on Ball point pen art, this was something I picked up because I'm currently learning more on drawing skills with the medium of ball point and I'm glad I did. Not only does it show you the pictures of drawings which are truly amazing and inspiring but you also get a nice little paragraph or more on the artist themselves.Highly Recommended.
