A.P. Donovan - Damascus straight razor complete set - with shaving brush, shaving soap and strop

So this is a very pretty razor. It’s definitely a statement art piece and I very much enjoy holding/using it. The folding action isn’t too right or loose, the grip is comfortable and it cuts whiskers. The box it comes in is more ornate then the wooden box I bought to propose to my wife. Ridiculous! But absolutely beautiful and you can easily tell this manufacturer takes pride in making these. I will say it does loose it’s edge after use but because it’s Damascus steel (it’s another art of folding a very soft and very hard/brittle metal together hundreds to thousands of times giving a blade that can be honed easily but have must better edge retention then hardened steel alone) however you can def hone it very well on a strop, just make sure to follow the recommendations on how many passes you need for a sharp razor. This is very giftable but I personally will be making it a family heirloom as I believe it will stand up to time and I look forward to handing this down to future copies of myself!
