I got this as a birthday gift for my mom, who had been wanting something like this for a few years. She really enjoys using it, and says people often comment on it when they come into her kitchen. It's so cute that she leaves the plate out on the counter! The brush is sturdy enough to brush off the garlic or ginger from the plate, and the skin peeler really works.

Beautiful on display and works great for garlic

Purchased for Christmas for grandson-in-law who's a chef in an Asian fusion restaurant. I'm sure he'll love having this kitchen item since he also cooks a lot at home too. Liked that it came with a brush, garlic peeler, and stand. I loved the colors and design and think I'll get one for myself too! Ceramic plate seemed to be good quality and nice weight to it. Couldn't comment on if it was easy to clean or use since it wasn't for me, but I doubt there will be an issue. Price was good. I'm sure he'll be very pleased with this gift. If you read a bad review I wrote about this item I apologize. I thought I was writing about slippers that I received the wrong ones twice. I don't know how I managed to do that. Ooops!) The grating plate seems great!

I was surprised how well this little plate works for grating garlic. I have pretty good knife skills, so mincing garlic with a knife is only mildly annoying. But this plate is great for REALLY quick grated garlic, especially just one or two garlic cloves. Instead of using the included brush to get every ounce of garlic goodness out of the grooves (which probably would work alright), I swish it off with any liquid I'll be using in the recipe for deglazing, etc. Plus there is an included plate holder so it stays on my countertop looking pretty and is easy to grab and use.

I was a bit dubious when I received this because while the nubby bits were pointy they weren't sharp. Im a convert now though, I can get garlic or ginger paste without accidentally cutting myself on a microplane.Ive hit my bare fingers on the nubs multiple times and never got unwelcome protein additions (you know, blood or skin) in my garlic or ginger.I also found that this works great on remiving the stringy bits in ginger root, it turns most of the roots to pulp, but the atrings stay long and stringy so its easy to keep it out of my food.Id highly recommend it. The only downside I see is that its made of ceramic so if you drop it then it will break. The ceramic is glazed so you keep the flavors clean and dont end up with garliy ginger or vice versa.I kinda love this little wonder

This is the best grater I've used. I have used garlic on it and also parmesan cheese. This is a very decorative way to have guest's grate cheese at the table rather than any other alternatives. I did throw the plastic stand away though. I just keep it in a drawer. The brush that comes with it to get all the garlic off is well made and the bristles are firm. Brush and plate are dishwasher safe. They sell these plates with everything you get from Amazon at County fairs for 6-8 dollars more than Amazon. This makes a great gift too.
