Great reference
Just need to know when the chords change and YouTube will tell you. Alongside Fakebooks as a reference it’s a good one!

The best songbook out there!
This book is unbelievably good. You won’t believe how many of the songs you love they got the rights for and included. And the compact chord notation is my favorite way to learn and remember songs with a guitar because it gives you the rhythm of the chord changes (eg how many measures to play before changing and aligns it to the lyrics.) rather than just the letters.I think this volume might be even better than its beloved predecessor, rise up singing, because it has more recent favorites and slightly better chord notation. But I consider both Rise Again and Rise Up Singing essential, and have multiple copies of each to pass around.Note that the songs are mutually exclusive between the two books.

Wrong size
We love the collection, but the book was marketed at 9'X12" (large print), and we received the 7" x 10" book with small print Disappointing. Apparently it is not available in large print.

Worthy Successor to Rise Up Singing
I've used "Rise up Singing" for many years and this book is a worthy successor. As it's name and appearance suggest, the book uses the same format as the older book. Even though the Internet can provide words, basic and tabs to practically any song, I like this book, and not just because I'm nostalgic. The Rise Again Songbook presents a curated list of songs in compact form under handy categories. Browsing through the lists makes me want to grab my guitar on practically every page. I can skip or skim categories I'm not interested in. The Internet can do most of that, but I like the book's editorial sensibilities, which are similar to the original book. The result is a wonderful song list. I have spent an hour looking through the book so far, and I'm just 30 pages in. I'm looking forward to paging through the whole thing.

Great Sequel to RIse Up Singing.
This is the sequel to the Rise Up Singing book which I've enjoyed for many years. In fact I seem to have lost that book so I recently ordered that one too. All of the songs in this book are different from the ones in the first book. My copy arrived yesterday and I spent about an hour going through about a third of the book to find songs I like. There are many songs I know and like but also many I don't happen to know. If you already have Rise Up Singing, you definitely want to get this book too. To be clear, it's just a book of lyrics with cords written in. So you need to either play an instrument by ear or use it to sing, preferably with a group of people or just your family.

The Best Song Guide There Is
I have always loved this series of books by Peter Blood and Annie Patterson (I have signed copies now!!). This is the latest one. My friends and I rely on them for our many gatherings where we share songs and music in circles, around campfires, to teach others songs, and just when a couple of us get together with our guitars. The chord arrangements aren't always perfect, but the compilation is excellent--both comprehensive and wide-ranging, including not only "trad" (folk) songs but rock, blues, kids' songs, old classics, etc.--and the organization is relatively easy to use, with several different indexes. There is no other guide that is as useful or as loved among my friends as these, and I recommend them highly to keep this music alive and encourage people to not just listen, but play!

Typeface is kind of hard to read, low contrast and not a great font
I just got this, based on many recommendations, and my having Rise Up Singing for decades. I had to return the smaller version for the larger version (it doesn't say large print, but it's 9 x 12 instead of 7 x 10) in order to see well enough to lead songs with a guitar or fiddle. I'm not sure I'd be able to do that anyway: the font is a little bigger, but the contrast on the page is not as good with this Rise Again as it is with Rise Up Singing. Photos show small and large editions of both (my small Rise Up Singing is from the 80s). They all have a serif font that makes it a tad harder to read.

This is an amazing new collection of songs
We have not only bought two copies for ourselves, but a few to give as gifts. This is an amazing new collection of songs. There are gasp-worthy songs on almost every page. Songs you wanted to learn, songs you never heard of but need to. Love that there are more current songs included. I love that this book supports home made music. It doesn't have to be of one or two genres to have a place in our hearts. So grateful to the creators of this wonderful collection and to the first book, Rise Up Singing. Thanks to my husband, Dana, in our acoustic music club, Songmakers, we call them the Old Testament and the New Testament.

An excellen book for musicians who don't need, want or can't read music notation
Excellent follow up to Rise Up Singing. With 1200 songs, can't fault it for choice and the ring binding makes it easy to use.No notation. Just words and chords, which, if you can't read music, like me, is all you need. Obviously you have to know the song in the first place.....Recommended

Huge range of songs but very little actual stave music ...
Huge range of songs but very little actual stave music only guitar cords. I have it to a friend who plays guitar.

Lyrics print is very faint. Good set of songs, though.
It's a wonderful book of songs but the ink printing is so terribly faint. I will have to buy readers to see the lyrics. Perhaps I should have bought the more expensive format at the start. Maybe the company will pay part of my reader glasses, how about it?

Great book for Words and chords.
This is a great book. Words and chords are all there. I was thinking it was going to be like a Fake Book with the music in it as well. If you don't know the tune, it will be hard to use. My fault I didn't read more carefully in the description. It is a great book for what it was intended for.

Great selection of songs, easy to understand...
Gave this book to my 15 year old niece as a present, she's learning to play guitar. She absolutely loves it - lots of songs she is familiar with, and everything is laid out in an easy to understand way. Definitely recommend!!
