Fantastic Story with Interesting Characters
Normally I would give a good, trope-y romance 3 stars if I liked it. I like trope filled romances because sometimes I like knowing what is going to happen next and that it will have a guaranteed HEA. If a book is a good romance with something extra, like strong characterization or a good mystery in the plot, then I up it to 4 stars. When it has all that plus something deeper, like a strong theme, then I go with 5 stars. This book was a good romance with fun characters, an interesting mystery in the background, and had a few plot points that had me reading faster to find out what was going on or laughing out loud. The relationship starts when FMC has a rough time what with upsetting her neighbor and then losing her job only to spend far too much time in a hot car. The neighbor comes over to check on her and realizes that she is severely dehydrated and a bit loopy. She slips into little space without realizing it, even though she normally tries to suppress that side of herself. He doesn't know much from personal experience about littles, but he wants to help her rehydrate and cool down, so he does what he can.As they continue to spend time together, his MC club has issues with trying to deal with a Senator who they believe is raping young girls. She has issues with a coworker at her new job. The MC club also has issues with a stalker assassin who goes by the name of Fox. All of this occurs while the FMC and her new Daddy slowly become more confident in their new relationship with each other. The relationship is sweet, and I love the slow growth. I love how he has never had a relationship like this before but does his research to make sure he is doing everything the "right" way. I love how he tries to make homemade playdough for her. I love how she accepts his possessive nature, especially once she understands his background.I especially loved the Fox character. I have shelved this book on my "psycho boyfriend" shelf, but the bf in this book is not a psycho. Fox is the psycho. He is one of those psycho characters who has no understanding of how emotions are supposed to work, but has a soft spot for the FMC even though he's not dating her. He looks out for her and takes care of her as needed. I look forward to seeing more of his character in future books in the series, and hope that the author plans to give him his very own book in this series eventually. Psychos with a soft spot are just a character type I love to read about! That is actually one more good point about this book. The author managed to make me care about both the FMC and her new Daddy, and yet also had plenty of interesting characters in the background. The psycho assassin with a soft heart, the douchey ex husband, the weasely coworker, the smarmy ex-boss, the beautiful and mysterious Jewel from the mc compound, and the other mc members were all very well rounded. They were all interesting enough that I look forward to them each getting their own book in this series (except for the douchy exhusband and weasely coworker and smarmy ex-boss - those characters are meant to stay in this book.)Combining the excitement of an MC Club with the sweetness of a DD/lg relationship and the interesting psycho assassin and other characters made this a fantastic read that I will likely re-read in the future when I find myself in a book slump. I really do look forward to the next books in this series!

Love Duke and Sunny
I've had this book for absolutely ages and finally decided I was going to read it. I've been fascinated by the whole concept of the relationship dynamics between Daddies and Littles, but long ago, I tried one and it was ... TOO MUCH and completely squicked me out, so I didn't pick it up again. That said, I enjoy a little daddy kink and love the earlier books by BB Hamel (not sure if they are still around) and Jessa Kane 🔥🔥🔥. So... I decided to read it, and got sucked in by the writing. Ms Roberts' writing style worked for me and it drew me into the story. Reading her writing is effortless and I did not feel like I was reading a long book even though I was. And I read way past my bedtime which is something I no longer do much.A few things. I loved the dynamics between the Daddy and his Little the way Ms Roberts portrayed it. There is a wonderful balance between protection and care (okay, and a little obsession) and tenderness, vs discipline and rules. And I also loved the balance and distinction between being Big vs letting the Little out and how that was handled. I've often wondered how something like that would work in real life and I can see it working the way Ms Roberts has set up the roles, the relationship dynamics, and how each individual functions together and separately. What I also found appealing was how much thought went into the care of the Little by the Daddy, and maybe it was a timing thing and I was feeling vulnerable and stressed out after a rough year, but all of that worked for me when I was reading the book. It was comforting to read and it made me feel good, and right now, I need feel-good books.I loved Duke and Sunny. The grumpy-sunshine trope is one of my favorites right now and I love finding good representations of the trope. This is a good one. Duke is grumpy at the best of times, and Sunny is...well, she's exactly like her name. She's pure light and brightness. Even when she's being a bit of a brat and acting out, it's adorable. And the way Duke handled her being a brat was awesome too. This coming from someone who hates brats.Of course, there's danger and an underlying suspense plot which is great fun and kept me guessing the whole time. The whole motorcycle club thing didn't even ick me out (I'm not a fan of the trope) because the focus was not on the MC life and that's got no place in the Daddy-Little dynamic for which I'm sincerely grateful. And finally, the Fox. Oh, the mystery and hence, the fascination. I can't wait to learn more about him.

Sunny and Duke
This is a good, well written romance. Sunny has had a rough time, divorce and now losing her job. Duke becomes her hero after he finds her suffering after she had been sitting in her hot car for several hours. These characters are interesting and lovable. There is lots of mystery and an assassin named Fox. Read and enjoy.

Disappointed
This was more about the MC then about the "little" world and age play. I would rate it very low on the hotness scale. And quite boring until the end. Its one of those books that wraps everything up super fast in the end.

Wish I had a neighbor like Duke!
Duke wasn’t looking for anything with anyone. He has his shop & his club, that’s all he needs. Then he notices Sunny sitting in her car on a hot night & decides to check on her. Neither of them will ever be the same, & it’s all for the better. Such a great story! This is my first Laylah Roberts book & it wS an awesome start! Can’t wait to read the rest!

MC daddies book 1
