NOT an instructional book!
The ONLY book of the four I ordered that was written within the last 10 years. I made an order of four slide rule books and was completely deceived by reprints from 1775, 1881, and 1868!I was looking for instructional books and this one is NOT IT!The others I can barely read. I was completely fooled into thinking these were decent instructional books.THEY ARE CRAP!

Slipstick history from a German Phrancophile
This is a contemporary history of slide rules that emphasizes Continental influences over English and American ones, and therefore it is rather skewed. Still, Cajori's A History of the Logorithmic Slide Rule was published in 1910 and pre-dates Pickett and the explosion of engineering and industrialization which moved the slide rule from a toff's curiosity to a working engineer's sidearm, so Jezierski's contribution is welcome.

A good book for those brought up in the digital age to learn how it had to be done not so long ago.
Slide Rules is/was a very good book it reminded me of my school days !

Für Menschen die sich mit Rechenschiebern beschäftigen ein sehr informatives Buch.Leider habe ich es nicht in der deutschen Ausgabe gefunden.
