Cannot recommend this book enough!!!!
I'm an agency-represented wardrobe stylist with a degree in Psychology obsessed with the subject of Enclothed Cognition. The subject matter is the amalgamation of two of my deepest passions, and let me tell you this book did not disappoint! It is hands-down my favorite book on the topic! I literally cannot recommend this book enough to anyone also interested in Enclothed Cognition and, even more so, anyone who is struggling with their closets.Usually, it would take me at least a week to finish a book like this, reading it in small spurts. I undeniably finished the book in a day! There was so much information that SPOKE to me! What stood out specifically, was her writing on powerlessness in context to luxury goods. Without giving too much away, it reminded me of a particular time in my life in which I rebelled against my family by only wearing second-hand clothes and dying my hair crazy colors. I now realize why we both operated in the way that we did. I've even spoken to others, specifically about the context, and more importantly, I find it incredibly relevant in understanding certain current events.Do yourself a favor and buy a copy of this book and share it with those you love!

The Hidden Mind of Fashion
Before reading this book, I would put on a sweatshirt and not think twice. Now I can't go through the my morning without thinking of the reasons I picked what I did. This book isn't just good for figuring out how to dress, but to understand oneself as well. What we wear expresses to the world how we see ourselves, but why? This book dives deep into the human mind as well as the human soul, constantly encouraging the reader to reflect and grow. A must read, from an author who was the first to pave the way of this new type of psychology!

Dress your best life
Good detail on the psychology of color in your wardrobe. Could be less politically motivated.

Rethink Fashion
I loved Dawnn's insights regarding color theory applied to fashion. Makes you look at your wardrobe and think 'how do I feel today?' instead of the same old same - deepening the senses to tune in from mind, head to toe.

Excellent read for anyone at a crossroads/transformation period, re-evaluating themselves
I enjoyed this book, my observations would be as follows:Positives:- Confirms in written format what I've always experienced but never put into words: that clothes can have such an impact on our emotions and confidence, and the knock-on effect of this.- Provides the impetus to sort/clear out your clothes, and really think about what suits you.Negatives:- Written in a very colloquial, conversational style, as if speaking to friends.- Cultural references specific to America, which will probably be lost on international readers. This was particularly frustrating in the "questionnaire" sections, if you can't relate to the American clothing brands she mentions. I fear that the book won't age well because of being steeped in American popular culture.- Book could be more concise - i.e. there are long sections analysing the meanings of different colours.I would recommend the book if you're going through a transformation/crossroads in life, re-evaluating yourself and your identity, as it throws up lots of consideration points and questions.
