it was the only book i could find on amazon, on the y block ford motor. i was expecting to find more details on these motors uses.. the rebuild and upgrades info, was fine.. these motors arent real popular, so was probably lucky to find this book, and still available... getting hard to find books on anything, anymore since everybody goes to their cell phone and google and youtube... i still like books for reference...

Bought for my son when he got a '64 F100 with a 292. Lots of decent information to help with the oddities of the Y-block. Yes, it has some, notably the method of lining up timing marks: it's NOT like a smallblock Chevy!

I don't really get this book. It has so little detail that the only person who could use it would be someone who already knows a lot about rebuilding engines, but that person would not need this book. The person who needs a book to tell them how to rebuild and engine needs way more information and detail than this book provides. I bought it because I'm a novice and I find that I really can't follow the book because it assumes a level of knowledge that I don't have. If I knew what it was talking about I wouldn't need it.

Clear and concise instructions with good visuals

this is a well written and illustrated effort. We didn't realize in the 60's what a great engine this is. I raced a few and had good success, but if I would have known some of this info & had access to some of these parts, I would have been winning a lot more. !

Good basic book on engine rebuilding. Tons of big glossy pictures. Mostly geared toward first time engine rebuilders. Could have used a little more on the performance modification side. Great book for my son and his first hot rod engine build.

handy book to have

there is certainly good info in this book and if you are a y block beginner a must have but with all these type of manuals there is stuff missing so be prepared for some let down.
