Weston Original Jerky Gun , Aluminum Tube Holds 1.5lbs of Ground Meat, Easy Squeeze Trigger

Bought this to go with the dehydrator I purchased. I've only used the jerky extruder and don't really plan on using the other attachments, so take that into account in the review. This is a sturdy unit and I'm pleased. I'm not sure why the jerky strips are supposed to be as narrow as they are (I'm used to seeing commercial versions of jerky that are closer to an inch wide) Maybe it helps make sure they get dried? Dunno. Otherwise, the unit fills easily, the trigger isn't hard to pull, and the unit comes apart for cleaning easily. I've used it for multiple batches so far, and don't see why it wouldn't last for years. Cool thing about the plastic is that you can see how much is left in the barrel and plan accordingly when laying out the trays. Now that I've used this, I'm glad I didn't bother shelling out for a metal one.

Bought this when my son got his 1st deer. I have traditionally made muscle jerky in a little chief smoker. My boys wanted "soft" jerky so we tried this for the 1st time. I made the jerky and did both smoker and oven "cooking". both came out great, but I think the smoker jerky tasted nicer. Solidly built, I thought it would be thin, cheap plastic, but it is a thick solid plastic and hold up well to occasional use. I have used it 5 times now and don't see any problems with is breaking. Love making jerky with hamburger and my boys love the "soft" jerky.

This jerky gun works great. Easy to load (just make meatballs small enough to fit into the tube). Very durable (used at least 45 times so far with 25 to 30 pounds of beef each time). The only drawback is cleaning the inside of the tube after use. The best method I've found is a large bore bottle brush (a little hard to find when I looked). Measure the inside diameter and purchase a bottle brush that has a slightly larger diameter than the gun tube.It would be helpful if it came with a bottle brush. Absolutely would purchase again.

This jerky gun works great. I made jerky and snack sticks. They both turned out great

I recieved the jerky gun with quite a mess, the seasoning mix included in my purchase was open and the mix was covering everything. The bottle was not sealed and the top had come off. I contacted Weston that day, recieved an email saying that they were experiancing a large email load but they would return my email within 5-7 working days. It has been almost 6 weeks without response. The gun is fine but their customer support is lacking big time.

This has to be one of my best purchased this entire year when it comes to Amazon. Our original jerky gun was cheap and plastic and broke about a year into making jerky. However, this Weston piece is rock solid. You will feel like the king of the world with this thing sitting in your arms. When I opened this up for the first time, there was no doubt that I may not ever have to buy another jerky gun in my lifetime. Well built! I really like that it can hold so much beef at one time too. This ensures that I don't have to keep packing the tube more than necessary. Love! Love! Love!

The box came in unopened but there was supposed to be jerky seasoning with it and there wasn't. Sent the warranty card and a note about seasoning and it was returned to me . I sent to address that the kit has listed

I used to buy expensive specialty jerky for my kids, but when I sent them mine, they preferred the texture of mine much more, and it was made from ground beef! The ground turkey did not pass the test, as it didn't hold the flavor. But I have so much fun making a batch of jerky and sending it to them. That's one way to get them to call home, LOL!

Found it really bulky and not the greatest to use. Maybe I just need to use it more to get used to it
