Delivery was day late due to Royal Mail, but the book is in excellent condition as described by the seller. 👍

This started as quite a good story. I enjoyed the two timelines running parallel. But the ending seemed a little strange.

Story is wonderful. Very captivating. Since my last amazing book was KATE MOSSE LABYRINTH this book is also amazing same style format page turner and very excited specially connection between the two century amazing.Highly recommend

When I first discovered this book and read the description I was quite excited. I expected it to be along the lines of 'Discovery of Witches,' since it had a basis in academia and dealt with stories of the occult and ancient legends. The first three or four chapters drew me right in, and I was prepared for a quick and passionate read. In the end this book took me two months to read, and I just wasn't interested enough to keep returning to it. I only read it to see the outcome, but it never stirred the kind of passionate magic I was expecting. The best bits were the chapters following Cedric Owen during his travels in the 16th century, and I especially enjoyed his meeting with the Jaguar people. Other than that, this book was fairly uninspiring and I came away with a sense of vague disappointment.

If you like Manda Scott...you will deffinitly appeciate this one. Her female heroine is always a strong character and determined.Very enjoyable.

Readable but not great. Another Dan Brown wannabe, but much too long for the substance in the plot (not much).
