Great High School Graduation Gift!
Cute, easy to read. Great introduction. Even I learned a few good tips. Perfect for the present-day teenager who doesn't have a social clue, but reinforcing and good even for those who do. At graduation time, I buy these by the dozen!

Great gift for new graduates!
The first edition of this book was given to me 25 years ago when I graduated from High School. It has always meant a lot to me. Since then, they have added some volumes and this is the complete set of wise suggestions, which I think make for great gifts to anyone, especially someone graduating. The book has great thoughts and suggestions on how to live your life and maybe will give the reader a new perspective to consider. Of course, people don't agree on everything, but everyone who has read the book and has said they identify with many of these suggestions. I find that in my own life I will reflect on it these when I'm in the moment. For example ("Be the first to say hello", and "Over tip a breakfast waitress") Overall, just a really good book, easy to browse through on a coffee table, and makes a perfect gift for someone.

This book inspires!
I am a retired high school teacher and middle school administrator. For many years I bought a few copies of this incredible book and gave them to students (with an inscription) who I thought would be as inspired by its pages as I was. This book added polish to what became dozens of success stories. Possession of this book is like adding a wise grandparent to a kid's family.

Everyone should own this book!
I'd rate this book a 10 if I could. It is full of valuable life instructions that can be read over and over and over to refresh our memories. I've given this as a gift to many of my family and dearest friends and they have all loved it. I also love this author's LIVE AND LEARN AND PASS IT ON book. It's just as excellent! And I've gifted it to many people also. I love when one contributor to this book a 7 year old (I think) said "I've learned that.......... I can't hide my broccoli in my milk" Love both of these COMPLETE books.

Makes a great gift
Sure, some of the advice is a little "shallow," especially if you harbor a cynical streak. But it's an entertaining read, and one can "pick and choose" what to take seriously. It makes a great gift for a young high school graduate, which is why I purchased it.

A delightful thing to have lying around...
I first found this book on a bargain shelf at my local bookstore and picked it up for just 4 or 5 dollars. It really was a good buy.It really is not a book that one would want to pick up and read but rather a book that you would want to have lie on your desk at work or on your coffee table at home so that visitors (or clients) can pick it up and turn to a random page and find any assortment of good philosophical sayings. Each time I pick it up I find myself smiling at the fact that it gives something new each time you open it. With over 1500 entries, it really does give advice on everything. It gives advice on the things that we ethically know, but not necessarily are written down anywhere.I bought a second copy not long ago for a friend of mine for a Christmas gift. It's a simple little thing that can make a big reaction.

Great present!
Gave this to my bonus daughter for her 16th birthday because I still remember some of the lessons from over 20 years ago.
