Cool but Useless Lemon
This might seem like a cool machine to have. That's what I thought until it started having problems after 3 months of very light use. The company that makes it was quick to reply to a warranty request for help and sent new parts and a technician to replace almost everything (motor, controller, belt, deck, and console). It still isn't working right and it has taken another 8 weeks to try to get a tech out again. I haven't gotten to use it for the last 6 months of the 9 I have owned it. This was not worth the cost. I suggest buying something else.

1st impressions
I just received the Vision T40 Touch yesterday and put it through its paces and have some initial impressions to share (which I hope will be helpful as there are no reviews online yet). The treadmill is solidly constructed and has plenty of places to store water bottles, remote controls, cell phones, etc. I bought the touch model and am very pleased with the HD screen. The touch screen is large, clear, and reasonably sensitive so pushing buttons and making settings is easy. You also have additional non-touch buttons on the treadmill to adjust incline, speech, etc.. There is no way to dial in a set incline or speed (no numbered buttons) but rather you move a slider on the touch screen. It would be nice if a numbered keyboard popped up to use). The speakers/audio is ehhhh and playing my ipod at full volume was hard to hear over the thumping of my running and treadmill noise (which is pretty quiet) and there is no absolutely no bass for those that listen to dance/electronic music to work-out. My fix... I plugged in a set of computer speakers to the audio out port and pipe my ipod through those speakers (control ipod through treadmill but play through other speakers). Works fine. The pre-programmed work-outs are nice but I wish there was more variety, such as hill training, etc. However, you can easily program custom workouts or just workout and it automatically saves what you did on a calendar and you can go back and re-do those workouts easily. I tried the HR workouts (which is a feature i really wanted as I train in certain HR zones). The program does what it is supposed to do (increases incline or speed to keep you at a target HR) HOWEVER... the program will abort if your HR jumps over 10 bpm or something like that over the target to prevent you from over exerting. The problem with that is that HR straps can be erratic at times (if not moistened enough, if it moves too much, environmental interference). To me, this is a horrible design. Instead, the program should chime and a notification should come up saying "HR increase detected, do you want to abort?" and let the user decided. Vision PLEASE PLEASE address this in a software update. The virtual active HD videos are cool... my wife will use them more than me. You can run through chicago, Italy, etc... and it adjusts the incline accordingly. The cushion is good on the treadmill (no aches or pains). Overall, I would recommend this treadmill. Expensive for sure.. but I got a great deal on it and feel that what I paid was worth it.

not worth the high price tag
Easy to assemble and this is a very high quality treadmill, if running, exercising is your goal this is it, but if you need motivation and distractions to get going this is not it. The sprint 8 has great visuals as to when your sprint starts and stops, but the map is boring it has a stick person going around the circle on a folded out map, no motivation. The virtual pace video is beautiful. But most of the people you pass on the trails seem to be irritated with the videographer.. which is not uplifting. The biggest downfall of the videos is that it starts from the beginning every time, you can't fast forward to another section, so the videos get boring really fast. The console is big and beautiful but mindful of where you are going to place the machine as you can not "tilt" the screen and there is glare in highly lit or sunshine areas. The Ipod adapter is for older ipods it will not fit the new 30pin? smaller pin ipods and there is no Fan. this is very discouraging as the console area is so large putting a fan in front of the machine does very little to help keep your face/head cool. Also the mypass module to push the video up to a TV is an additional 400.00. Overall; for fitness, great. For motivation and distraction on your way to fitness not worth the very high cost.

Great if you get a big discount
Treadmill itself is very good. 3.0 hp might seem undersized versus what other people advertise but I found it just as powerful as my old 4.0 hp Smooth 9.65 LC. Belt is thicker (orthopedic?) than my two previous mills and the deck cushioning is good and more important quiet. My last two mills sounded like you were having a roll in the hay after a few months as whatever their cushioning system is starting squeaking relentlessly. I got the Touch model and am still working through all the features on it. My wife likes the Virtual Active programs but the regular track interface is pretty cool as well since it has elevation changes as well. A few other people noted it isn't worth $4,000 and I would agree however if you go to a fitness store like I did they will likely knock $1,000 off the tag right off the bat. Oddly they wouldn't do that for the AFG which are lower cost lower feature versions of this treadmill built by the same company. In the end I got this treadmill for the same price as the AFG. Don't buy online. Go to a fitness store and offer $2,800 and you are likely to get one of them to agree

Don't buy it if your 5' 8" or shorter!
Bought this unit with the Touch+ display because we thought it was worth the extra money to have the large video screen for motivation. What we didn't realize until getting it home is that the display blacks out at lower viewing angles. I'm 5' 8" tall and the display is tilted a bit back for me when I'm standing in front of it, but while running my eyes drop to a lower viewing angle where the screen starts to black out. For my wife who is only about 5' 2", she is seeing a black screen most of the time while running. The display is just fixed at too steep an angle back. The company customer service is some stoner valley girl who replied "That's just the way it is", and recommended that I return the unit. Great advice!

I love the smoothness and the guiteness of the treadmill
I upgraded from a Pro-form 545S heart rate treadmill that we wore out. The Vision T40 Touch has tons of features that are very handy. I had to read the book a lot at the beginning. I love the smoothness and the guiteness of the treadmill. I can make costume workouts for each person in the family.
