The Killer Volume 4: Unfair Competition (4) Hardcover – July 30, 2013

The creators cheaped out some on the art. They over used 3D for the vehicles, which doesn’t jell as well with the hand drawn art as it did in the first 3 volumes. Story was a bit big headed and conspiratorial. Flat out silly and even boring at points. Still better than most super hero stuff, but not great or fantastic like the first 3 volumes.

Best comic book I've read in years. I own Volume 1 and 4. Read the other 2 from library. I wish they had some new prints out there. People ask a little bit too much for it. Great stuff.

This is a great chapter in this series. Love every moment of it. Will get the last chapter soon.

Love the art, love the story.

The killer teams up with Mariano again in Volume 4, Unfair Competition. There are two stories that make up this volume, but they are tied together.In the first story, the killer is sent to America to take out some corrupt people in the oil industry. He meets up with Freeman, an ex-CIA agent. In the second story, Mariano, Freeman and the killer find themselves in the oil business in Cuba. In order to cut through regulatory agencies, the killer's special talents are called on.Along the way, there is plenty of commentary on the corrupt rich, or the complacent middle. It's another fine story in the series, and although I used the word a couple days ago in my review of The Killer Omnibus, it's very cinematic. The story by Matz is good and the art by Luc Jacamon is excellent with backgrounds teeming with details. I like this series.

A fabulous continuation to "The killer" series. Subtly different presentation of the speech by comparison with previous volumes. You must have familiarity with volumes 2 & 3 to make sense of this one, as the characters continue to develop and the plot thickens around Cuba and oil interests. The gorgeous artwork repeats its presence here, characterised by wonderful shadow work and lush detail. One of the best graphic novel series going.
