Best flashlight for the price and much more!
I've owned this model, the foxelli, and another model (don't remember the name but it's the same one as these two). They all work great and actually compete with the more recognizable, much more expensive brands like Petzl and others. I've given ones away for presents and they have loved them as well. I even bought one as a backup! The battery lasts for several hours (6 to 8) at decent brightness. I've owned one for 2 years now (use it every other day) and it's holding up well. It's very durable and very much water resistant. The only problem I have is the length of the medium beam. You have to switch it back and forth when it's dark. It's annoying somewhat but for the price it can't be beat! Highly recommended!

Good light but lumen and mAH ratings are false & 2 of the light strengths are useless
I work on my cars doing both detailing and mechanical work in low light situations quite a bit. A number of months back I finally decided to pick up a headlight since I saw a few that were pretty cheap on groupon It was super convenient, but the cost of batteries to keep the light going & bright quickly eclipsed the cost of the light itself. However, I had some information now regarding what I would like to see from a light and started looking for a recharge unit.I sided on this guy as the battery capacity and the lumen output were higher than a comparable light (forget the name of it, something along the lines of foxnelli). However, once the documentation that came with the light indicated that it has the same LED as the other unit (something other reviewers mention) which leads me to assume that the lumen output is the same & based on other reviews the battery life is slightly less leading me to assume the battery capacity is incorrect too (if both units have the same LED I would expect a 2800 mah battery to significantly outlast a 1800 mah....and to definitely not underperform). The above being said, the light has been a treat function-wise. I've used it for a number of hours already (at least 5) and the battery life indicator is still showing 80% which I'm thinking may not be the case, but time will tell (and I'll update my review when it does!). After the 5+ hours of use the light seems to be fairly close in output strength as to when the battery was fully charged (but I'll have to confirm by depleting the battery and charging it back up so that I'm not slowly getting used to the light). The 5 different light strengths are nice, but I have some issues with them:- the difference between medium & high or Super is much more subtle than the difference between medium and low. Low is very dim- the default strength is medium and if the light is on high or super for a minute and a half it reverts back to medium. This is understandable to a degree since, based on what I've been told, the control circuits are more likely to burn out before the led due to heat generated by friction on most new "economy" lights. To me that says cost cutting went a bit too far - I could live with "super" being limited, but if super and high are both capped you might as well just remove high because it's pointless...at least in my mind.-(this is actually a positive for me, but might not be for others) turning on the SOS mode is pretty confusing. Following the instructions won't turn it on - some kind of weird combination of holding down the power button must be followed, but I have zero use for that function so I actually prefer this!- the power button is recessed (assuming this is so it can be covered helping with the water resistance) and quite small making it somewhat difficult to press normally and especially so if you're wearing gloves.-as mentioned by others the head and is quite small - it fits my head just fine, but I have to have the band set on the loosest setting. And my head isn't that big so I can definitely see others having problems.Aside from the above the light is pretty amazing. It is quite bright, the battery life is definitely pretty decent (destroys AAA lights), it charges fast, has a rear LED for those of you who walk dogs at night, it charges quite quickly, has some water resistant properties, has a lense that can spread the beam out (although just a bit, don't expect miracles from it) and had a battery % indicator (more on this later for how well it works) and seems to maintain a consistent level of output on the medium setting. The power switch works by letting you cycle through modes when you first turn it on after which pushing the button turns it off which works great for me (since high and super are short use functions I just leave it on medium until I'm done with it) and the light is pretty comfortable overall.I would like to have rated it higher than 3 stars, but the false information regarding lumen output and battery capacity along with the fairly minimal usefulness of high and super modes leads me to 3 stars (let's call it 1 star off for each negative). But for the price I would definitely buy again

One Star
Stopped working in 3 weeks and when I went to exchange the 30 days for returns and exchanges had passed. I bought for my husband for a gift as his previous exact one lasted 2 years, I would not buy again and risk it breaking in 30 days.

The thing is nice and very bright usable light
I'm a master automotive technician at a luxury car dealership, and bought the headlamp for fixing cars. The thing is nice and very bright usable light. It is a nice flood with no spot which is what I need for working on cars, and from what the battery life claims, very dependable.Unfortunately, this thing has one big drawback for me... It won't fit comfortably on my big head :'(On the band's most loose setting it's still uncomfortably tight, so after about 5 minutes I want to tear this thing off my head. I mean, I get a headache from it, and I don't ever get headaches. My head isn't that big... I mean I wear a large in full face motorcycle helmets to give you some perspective. Not extra large or XXL...I emailed the company, they were friendly and responsive, but sadly told me they don't have a larger band available for this. They told me I could return it to amazon for a refund. I'm only taking off 1 star due to the inconvenience of ordering it and having to return it for a refund. If you have a tiny head this will be perfect.

The headlamp looks like it has a good possibility of being a very good product, however, mine came defective. It should have 5 different light modes (medium, high, low, super, and SOS). Only 2 of these are working.

Use it on my 10 mile runs - battery still full
I've had this for 4 years and use it on my trail runs at night. After a 2-hour run, this thing still has full battery life! I'm puzzled at the less than stellar reviews because I find it comfortable, long-lasting, reliable, and bright. My running partner's light looks like a candle next to mine. Can't beat this for the price!

I bought this headlamp along side of the foxelli mx500l simply because I couldn't decide which one I wanted. This lamp boasts 310 lm and the foxelli claims 280. I can tell you for sure that the foxelli is brighter. Not by a lot, but it is noticeable. That being said it still is a very bright light. The other downsides are the headband is small. On it's loosest setting it is still very snug on my head, and I do not have a big head by any means. Also, the battery pack is not very comfortable. I'll definitely be using the foxelli light and shelving this one. Or possible selling it or giving it to a friend with a smaller head.
