The book is quite heavy for it's medium size. Page after page of glorious, colorful images, some in black and white. A treasure trove of history. Just by learning the period costumes one can guesstimate the era. A great addition to any library!

This is one of those books that is just fun to have around. It's easy to get lost in the pages and wonder where the depicted people were going all dressed up, or whether they felt comfortable in the styles of their times. Costume design fascinates me, and I don't even have much interest in the theater.

Very detailed and descriptive regarding dress and furniture designs. Lots of beautiful color illustrations.

Almost 800 pages but the pictures are quite small. Still quite a nice book but not one for reference more than general guidelines.

I enjoyed learning about clothing from other eras.

I adore everything about it. Explains exactly what they wore in detail then share descriptive pictures about them.

Terrific book! I didn't expect it to be so inclusive but it really represents all time periods.

The book is hardcover and was shipped nicely wrapped. However it is another small book that won't be easily read. I can understand however if it has a lot of pictures that increases cost. It just doesn't make these books very useful if you have vision issues. Someone mentioned a larger size available? I wasn't aware there was an option (and maybe there isnt). Just disappointing out of three (different) books I recently ordered two of them are very tiny. It becomes a chore to read them when they are like this.

Beautiful little book I bought for my cousin who is a costume designer. The material is thorough but concise enough to be digestible. Covers the costumes of many time periods and backgrounds across human kind! Its a bit small (see pic for reference) to be a coffee table book in my opinion but it’s a lovely reference to have in the library for anyone interested in this industry.

Muito bonito, apesar de que eu prefiro mais os costumes ocidentais. Mas é um livro completo.
