Great alternative to newborn Vit. K shot
We bought this to give to our newborn. Our midwife offered it as an alternative to the shot typically given at birth. I was quite happy to have an option that did not include giving a painful shot to a just-born baby. If you choose to use the drops, remember to give them once a week for four weeks starting on the day of birth. Your health care provider can oversee dosage amount. The drops expired within 6 months of my purchase date, so I have already tossed them out as they have fulfilled their purpose. The drops are a thick viscosity and require a moment to come out, but that is no problem. They have a slight, sweet taste that makes them quite acceptable. I'm very pleased with this product.

Alternative to synthetic shot given to newborns
I had the doctor in the NICU give drops from this daily for the week the newborn son was in the NICU instead of allowing them to inject him with the standard synthetic vitamin k shot given to all newborns. My son had regular blood tests done for blood sugar tests and bilirubin tests and his blood clotted immediately like it's supposed to after every test done. (Doctors warn that without vitamin k, blood won't clot properly) He also had 3 brain scans done and all was healthy. (Doctors warn that without the vitamin k, a baby will collect blood around the brain)So due to my experiences, I am convinced this product was effective and therefore pure true Vitamin K.To administer the vitamin, a drop was put in a bottle with a small amount of my breastmilk. He drank it down without issue.

Alternative to vitamin K shot
After hearing about several studies gone in Europe on vitamin K drops on Evidenced Based Birth Podcast, I decided to skip the Vitamin K shot and give drops instead. I give 2 drops once a week. Currently we are 7 weeks post partumIf you plan on circumcising your child this may not be an option for you. We decided not to circumcise (itโs an unnecessary medical procedure !) but did days if we had wanted to be wild not have been able to circumcise without a vitamin K shot given at birth. So skip the circumcision altogether- your boy will thank you later ๐ and give these drops I stress of the K shot

Good product for getting our infant daughter her vitamin K.
We bought this for our infant daughter as we opted out of the Vitamin K shot at birth but wanted to make sure she was getting some orally. We usually just gave her a drop then let her feed with mom to wash it down. Flavor did not appear repulsive to our daughter in any way.A good product and I would recommend to other parents and people in general.

Taste suddenly changed from fine to nasty!
I bought this product a few months ago and the expiration date says Jan 2016 but it now has an awful taste. It does not say that has to be refrigerated. The bottle is still more that halfway full but because of the nasty taste I can't use it.

This was a second best choice.
I wanted a product with only oil and vitamin-K for a baby. This was a second best choice.
