These are a good value for the money. I am a beginner with oil painting so I needed a set that was "good enough" until I can figure out what I like or don't like so I can judge my next purchases.What I like about these:they are pretty decent feeling in the handA good range of sizes between flat and roundThey seem to be easy to clean but I don't try to clean them back to perfectthey are fairly stiffthey make great brush marksWhat I don't like:I had one come apart during cleaning.the bristles are rough and after use they didn't hold shape. this could be my fault.I can't seem to get a fine enough line with the smallest brushes.They are pretty decent but I think I need more brushes to complement this set. not necessarily "better" just different because this could fit very well for a beginner or someone with a style that lends its self to this type of brush. for the price I don't feel bad about beating on them and scrubbing the paint into canvas. "ruining" them.

They are well made and quality brushes. I just wish that they could keep the same shape they start with as they tend to all spread out beyond the original shape. I have a really inexpensive set which does what I want.UPDATE: So as I have increased my actual painting skills, I find that these brushes are fantastic. As an amateur one tends to try to spread brushes over surfaces to get the desired effect but as skills increase one realizes that there are very subtle nuances to painting. This is what I have since found. They are perfect to the kinds of blending I am learning with acrylics.

I purchased this product because of a recommendation made by fine artist Lisa Lachri (via her You Tube channel #LachriFineArt. She suggested that these brushes were good for "scrubbing" paints into your canvas...they are. Nice stiff bristles which "scrub" very well. While there is some shedding, the shear volume of brushes in various sizes at such a nice price made it easy for me to have the various brushes to try and use as an amateur. If and when I decide that I have the talent and desire to become a serious painter, I'll know whether or not I want to replace any of these brushes with more expensive models. Right now this is a fabulous way to have an art tool that was recommended as a good value for the price.

These brushes are perfect for acrylic on canvas art. I love the traveling pack, the sleeves inside are perfect and protect the brushes. The bristles are rough and good for oils and acrylic paints. There are various sizes of brushes. I would buy these brushes again. The handles are smooth and easy to hold. The tips are fastened onto the handles very well. I have used them a lot since buying them and I am pleased that I have not lost any bristles in the paint. I can mostly do broad brush strokes with these, not easy to get tiny details. I love how the brushes just wrap up in the cloth carrying case and I can tie it closed. It's easy to take on the go, for landscapes.

They are great for beginners and children but not for professional artworks and details where the paint needs to lay flat against the paper. I do find them more suited for adding textures to canvas though. if anything the case they come in is great for storage.

Me and my daughter love to paint and this is a great set with a lot of different sized brushes. I give it 4 stars because it didn't come with any fine detail brushes. I paint some very fine lines and ended up having to go to Hobby Lobby and get some smaller brushes for my fine lines. But the brushes it does come with are great!

The canvas case is very nice and the wood handles are smooth and attractive.Unfortunately, the bristles on these brushes are very, very stiff. I did not like the effect it left on my canvas with my acrylic paints. Surprisingly, with how stiff they were, they also had a hard time holding shape. They fray out very easily.This set has become a part of my toddlers paint kit. I do not recommend it for beginning painters. Spend the extra money a better set.

Husband bought these for me - my favorite paint brushes!! Variety of styles & sizes. Perfect for beginners. Wood handles. Brush hairs don't stick out away from the others. Highly Recommend!!
