Decent mixer, but not everything I was expecting
This is a decent mixer, but not quite everything I was expectingFor one, this mixer only provides about 17.4 V of phantom power (I tested it with a multimeter), not the full 48 V that some other boards do. That still seems to be plenty to power the small Floureon condenser mic I'm using with this mixer, but it's still worth noting.Another thing is that the USB output from this mixer to the computer _only_ records the left channel. Sounds from the line input or USB input which play only through the right channel are completely ignored. The line output does not have this problem, only the USB output. Plugging the line output from this mixer into a dedicated USB audio interface which supports stereo input will allow you to record both channels.Another thing I noticed which I found rather confusing is that the INSTRU/LINE button below the channel 1 input doesn't seem to actually do anything. The instruction manual says you're supposed to set it based on what's plugged into channel 1 (instrument or line input), but I tested the mixer with both a mic and a line input plugged into that channel and in both of those situations toggling the button seemed to make absolutely no difference in the audio output of the mixer. Audio was fine in both cases, so whatever I guess. Finally, it's worth noting that unlike many dedicated audio interfaces (e.g. the Behringer UCA202, the Scarlet Solo, etc), this mixer will not allow you to monitor the USB output from your computer through the monitor jack without mixing that audio into the main mix. When the "USB Assign to Line" button is toggled off, USB input from the computer is completely ignored by the mixer. When it is toggled on, USB input is mixed into the main mix. This was a bit disappointing for me, because I wanted to be able to record vocals on top of a prerecorded backing track and hear both my voice and the backing track through my headphones, while only recording the vocals on my computer (so I could apply effects to them in post without affecting the backing track). I ended up having to buying a dedicated audio interface, the Behringer UCA202, which does have that capability. On the positive side of things though, the audio quality from this mixer is solid, both input and output, and I found it quite easy to set up and use.

18 volt phantom power!?!?!?
I originally had this at 1 star, due to phantom power. The vast majority of phantom power mics are 48 v. For some reason this one pushes out 18 v. After some research, I found that a few mics rated for 48 v perform well, almost close to the same, at 9 v as they do at 48 v. For example, the LewittLCT-240-PRO sounds fantastic at low voltage, almost the same at 48v. So now that I can use it for its intended purpose, I gave it 3 stars. Note that most 48 v mics tend to not work at all at 18 v.The best feature of this unit is its ability to USB plug into a computer and bee recognized as a sound input device. It also does a fairly good job of warning you when your gain is too high.

Amazing audio interface Buy it you wont be dissapointed....
I have tried alot of the $100 range audio interfaces all work the same but the only problem I kept running into is when I use it with my DAW (digital audio workstation) the audio in my headphones would not go that loud...as most audio interfaces max out between 5to 7 dbu but this little pyle of audio equipment for $35 does everything my focusrite does but it goes way louder the headphone output on this is 10dbu now at half volume it is super LOUD and the mic works good as well with my DAW even tho its only phanthom power is 18v it fires up my condensor mic and very low latency..I say get this mixer/audio interface it works well you will not be disappointed. I wish this was around last year b4 I bought the focusrite solo cause this is a great unit...Hope this helps someone out there in same place I was...now can go as loud as I need to with out limits and distortion and it runs off of usb power
