Exceptional Book
"Theories of the Digital in Architecture" is an exceptional book co-authored by two distinguished design scholars Rivka Oxman and Robert Oxman. This is a “must-read” for all researchers and practitioners in digital design and architecture.Focusing on theorisation, this book surveys the vastly diverse topics and technologies in the field. Together with 33 eminent scholars and industry leaders, Professors Rivka Oxman and Robert Oxman trace the origin and explore the evolution and future of the concept and application of digital thinking and technologies in architecture. As a member of the Computer Aided Architectural Design (CAAD) community, it is particularly enlightening for me to read and re-examine many of the foundational writings in this new and cohesive context, guided by Oxman’s critical introduction and thought-provoking reflection throughout the book. It is also one of the most ideal textbooks for inducting my undergraduate and research students, who just started their journey in digital design and architecture.Reviewed by Dr. Ning GuThe University of Newcastle, Australia

This book is extremely stimulating. It took a while to read—finding myself manically scribbling the blooming architectures of divergent thought provoked by nearly every passage.
