Simple. How did you come up with the idea for this product? The original inspiration for Korner came from a conversation I had with a couple who were considering home security. They were a dual-income couple, both college educated, renting an apartment, and they recently had a child. They had shopped around for home security for some time, yet they finally decided not to purchase anything because all the alternatives cost more than they were willing to pay. After hearing this story it struck me - if this dual-income, college educated couple can't afford home security, WHAT ABOUT EVERYBODY ELSE?!?What makes your product special? With setup in minutes, and a first year cost under $100, Kornersafe is truly for everybody. We believe that home security should be available to everyone, not just the affluent. What has been the best part of your startup experience?Watching our baby grow up! It has been incredible to watch Korner grow from a concept on a napkin to a working product in real people's homes!

Nice and simple but quirky and that annual fee...
Was easy enough to set up. The app has a few quirks and the system didn't want to recognize the sensors without a few minutes of playing with them but has worked fine thereafter. I'd have given the product 4 or 5 stars except for the annual fee. It's easy to not notice the fee in the Amazon description and it's not clear what exactly I'm getting for my money. Definitely will not bother to take the system with me next time I move.Update: Had a number of false alarms. After some searching, I contacted their customer support and the latest firmware was patched to me. It's weird that it couldn't be automatically patched or done through their app, but it worked and the false alarms stopped. Fast forward a couple weeks and I've noticed that the app is frequently unable to access their server and gives a "Server Maintenance" error. This means that you can't disarm your alarm and have to unplug it to make the beeping stop. It's annoying any time but is extra annoying when you have a sleeping baby with you.

Cheap insurance and piece of mind
I have this product and absolutely LOVE it. The aspect I like the most about it is the security it gives me while I am at home. Using the options included with the system, I have it set up to alert me when a door is opened. The alarm turns on automatically at bedtime and turns off in the morning. I don’t even have to think about it. This lets me keep tabs on whether anyone is coming or going. It also gives me great piece of mind when I am away from my house. I live in a bad neighborhood, and had my car stolen last week, I very much wish Korner would make a system this amazing for cars! Their customer service is also fantastic. I forgot my password and got fast help getting back into my system. I give them an A+!

WAS A USEFUL PRODUCT - COMPANY HAS NOW SHUT DOWN - BEWARE
When I first purchased this product in May 2018 I had seen overall good things about this, and my parents used it. The installation was fairly easy. The directions were clear in both images and text and i had everything up and running in about half an hour. Two days ago 8/08 our receiver went "missing" and wouldn't restart. Since 8/09 we have not been able to sign into the app or even access the user website. After doing some googling (their advertisement website is still running though...) their facebook page has a closing statement and the company is no longer in business. From what I have read so far THEY HAVE NOT OPENED SOURCED THEIR CODING for continued use. I don't know if it's merely a coincidence that i can't access my account/devices anymore, or what.....

I cannot recommend the Korner Security products after using them for 2 ...
I cannot recommend the Korner Security products after using them for 2 years. One of the most annoying things is that if the Korner system disconnects from the internet (which happens randomly, or when the internet goes down) the Korner system will not reconnect to the internet on it's own. I have to reboot my route to get it to reconnect. If I'm not home that means keeping a dynamic DNS URL up for my router and connecting remotely to reboot my router. This has been going on since day one with no solution/fix provided by Korner developers yet. This leads to the bigger and more concerning reason I can not recommend Korner. They have not done any code updates, firmware releases, etc in about 2 years either. They have no social media presence, including their CEO, Steve Hollis. They are not talking about their product...as far as I can tell it's a dead project. I expect any day that my Korner system will stop working altogether because they take their servers down and let the ship sink. They have dead links on their website, things just APPEAR bleak. Now when my Korner system is up and running and not randomly disconnecting I love it, works fine. Minimalist and cheap kind of system I am looking for. However I can't trust that there is ever going to be improvements and new innovations out of this group when I can't even tell if they exist anymore.

Good idea, but needs a lot of work. Like lots of crowdfunding concepts, they seem to have released it then forgot about it.
In concept, it's great. Still not sure about the $40/yr maintenance fee - seems excessive for what they do, basically cloud-hosting an app. It's not without problems though, and they don't seem to be updating it.First, the design of the siren is really cheesy. The way it plugs in with an inflexible stub (yes I know you can rotate the body) - is kinda silly. The only place it can be placed is directly in the back of your router, and you better make sure you don't have your router against a wall or with cables around it, or it gets really hairy. Super amateur-ish Kickstarter last-resort-to-get-to-market design on that thing.Second, I have three of these at three locations using three different ISPs and three different routers. They ALL constantly, and I mean CONSTANTLY get "stick disconnected" or "stick missing" notices. It's ridiculous. Korner desperately needs to update their firmware, and their "support" (there is little to none - just some message boards it seems) just blames you, your router or your ISP. No. Other people have this problem, and it happens too much and regularly in separate locations for that to be true. Something's jacked with your firmware or back end.Otherwise, great idea. Just really needs some work. These crowdfunding "ideas guys" need to realize that technology needs maintenance and updates. Please get with it!

Fantastic product, made for security and maintains a sleek look.
Super easy to setup, Sleek design makes for a perfect non-intrusive almost invisible installation (especially, if like me, your doors are white).Believe the marketing message, it takes you just 5 minutes to get going. All you need is the APP on your phone, Wifi in your house and doors / Windows to alarm.Range may be an issue - just be warned. I am getting an extended for coverage between upstairs and downstairs, which is not the fault of the product, but concrete and steel in my walls / floors. Aside from that the product works great in my house.
