50 Yard 1/4 Inch Wide Elastic String Cord Bands Rope for Sewing Crafts DIY Mask (1/4 inch 50 Yards)

I honestly thought this was like the elastic cord I previously used. The cord is definitely like the one in the one photo with the n95 mask. I will save you a bunch of money. When I started making masks, I had a little elastic, used it up, and then could not find it anywhere. After two attempts of buying on ebay since all of the amazon ones said they could not deliver until June/Julyish, and not receiving, I came back to look on amazon. While waiting for this to arrive, I tried using a stained white shit I had and was ready to toss. I cut in strips and then stretched the string (make sure the shirt is stretchy cotton...if it isn't,you can still do it but you will have to make it like bias tape and make a tie mask). It worked fabulously. I was actually thinking about canceling this shipment except it already shipped. I got this and that is EXACTLY what I had been using with the cut up shirts. The only benefit is that it is pre-cut and all even, other than that, it is identical. It is a softer cotton, and stretchy. This is NOT regular elastic that would be on a mask, this is literally strips of stretchy cotton. It works, but it may not be what some people expect, so just giving a heads up. Gave it 3 stars because the title is misleading enough where I am sure people will assume that this is regular 1/4" elastic cord, which it isn't.

From the beginning of the COVID pandemic, two of us in our home have been making face masks. We've made over 500. All with this elastic from this company. At the beginning elastic was very hard to come by, and I ordered from three different companies to get something fast. This one came first. I was a bit unhappy that it was just stuffed in the package - but it is loose and pulls out into single strands easily. It has good stretch (we use the same length elastic for three different sizes of masks, and it works well all. It's very soft without sacrificing stretch. I've ordered three times, and will go back for more. (ps - the other two brands ended up in the garbage)

This wasn't what I was expecting, but it works really well for it's intended use (mask making.) I was expecting your standard quarter in flat sewing elastic, and this was not that. I would never sew this into a waistband, for example. It's too soft and stretchy for that purpose, but it is extremely comfortable for mask making. I could also imagine using it for headbands, hair ties, etc.

Took 1 star off because it came in a huge wad. I was able to wind it into a cardboard “spool” myself, but what a huge pain... it was like a giant rats nest to unravel. Otherwise, it seems to be great for making masks or any application that would benefit from a softer, gentler elastic. I would buy it again for sure.

I am a newbie to making face masks. A talent I had to acquire due to our current circumstances. This elastic is great. It's very soft and comfortable on the ears. I've worn my mask through an 8 hour shift with no discomfort. I will add more to this review to tell how it holds up to washing. I will be repurchasing. If you are in doubt and need this for face mask...stop doubting and buy it, you won't be disappointed

Does not look like regular flat 1/4" wide elastic. It is soft and a bit thick and stretches a little more than regular elastic. Works great for face masks because of it's softness and is easy to sew with. Four stars because I do not know how long it lasts in washes.

This elastic cording is incredibly soft. Does not rub the backs of the ears when used on face masks. It would also be great paired with wider waistband elastic to use as a drawstring in shorts or sweats. Note: It does not come on a spool or anything, so I used a scrap piece of cardboard and wrapped it around that.

I took a chance on this elastic because I couldn’t find any other. So glad I did! Firm cord that cuts and ties easily, and has just enough give to be comfortable, but strong enough to hold a mask firmly to your face. I couldn’t be more pleased and so’s my family who are wearing the masks I make them! Love this elastic cord!
