Ive had my eye on a few of these similar knives for a while... I heard this Japanese type knives were great!! It took a while to convince myself to try it out.. what urges me was my husband had been complaining about our old dull knives so I decided to chance it and order one.It came and he was in Awe over it!!! He kept taking it out to admire the details work of it. He likes the design on the blade! It came in a very nice box to keep it safe from us slicing fingers while grabbing it out. He keeps his knives in a drawer, which makes having a case better!! He was very happy when he saw this had been delivered... my husband is very picky with knives he used to be a fish cutter and knows a good knife when he sees one. I bought this a few months back and it’s been the only knife he will use since getting it!! All his old ones were tossed!!We are carnivores in this house and eat a lot of meat. He had cut every type of meat with this knife and it’s always been effortless! I wish I could find a whole set of these style knives... cause he’s using it to cut things that you could use a smaller knife to cut... but it’s his favorite so of course he’ll keep going to it!!The cost was of average! I saw cheaper ones but was hesitate cause I didn’t want something “cheap” to arrive so I went with a medium range one and I’m ok with that. This knife has met my husband’s expectations based on quality and sharpness and ease of a blade!! Hope this was helpful!

This is the sharpest , most precise yet still lightest knife I have ever had in a kitchen !I bought it because my roommate was constantly on my case about using his , until it dawned on me : I COULD own my own darn knife instead of stealing his every time I need to chop veggies in the kitchen so I started looking .I have to say , I initially only chose this particular knife because it looked good enough for what I needed to do , I did not think too much about it so I also did not realize how good of a quality blade I was getting .I am posting a picture , not a good one , just a random quick shot to show how easy it is to grip!But do not be deceived ! This puppy could cut thru steel if it had to . I am shocked , positively shocked but still shocked nonetheless.It cuts very seemlessly even through thicker foods , I am one happy , formerly clumsy cook .

I previously owned only one major kitchen knife for chopping / prepping meals, a nice and expensive Shun knife. While I debated investing in another one of those, I was curious what you could get for a fraction of the price. Decided to give this knife a try and here's my thoughts:- Holds a sharp edge for long enough, no complaints there.- Foods sliced with it tend to stick to the side of the blade a bit more, but not too bad.- The weight and balance of the knife is the one thing I definitely noticed the most, the knife barely weighs anything, coming from a Shun.Would I buy this again? Conditional yes, so long as the current one lasts a good couple years or more, don't see why not, affordable and does the job reasonably well!
