I really liked how this product worked, especially on my little one's hair. She has shorter hair that is really curly underneath, and it's hard to straighten with regular straighteners. This brush straightener worked well to get under there w/o feeling like I was going to get too close to burn her.The main problem I had with it was that it would just keep shutting off while using it or while just sitting on my sink. I read other reviews that said that where the buttons are makes it hard to hold and not turn it off. Well I was making sure I wasn't anywhere near the buttons when I was using it and it would still shut off. Plus, you have to actually push and hold the power button to turn it off. If you just slightly touched or bumped it, it would not turn off. So I feel there may be a short in it. I am returning it and thinking about purchasing another one since I liked how it worked and just hope I don't have the same issue.The other thing I didn't like was that it takes a long time to heat up, especially since it kept shutting off and then I would have to wait a couple of minutes again for it to warm up.****UPDATE: So I did end up purchasing a replacement, and now I do feel that the first one had a short in it b/c I do not have a problem with this one just shutting off all by itself multiple times, HOWEVER I am going to have to return this one now too. :( I've used it about 7 times and a few of the little red rubber tips have melted off/ broken off. (See my pic).

Item arrived quickly and seems to be well constructed. I have medium thickness wavy to curly hair and it does straighten it but I still had to section off hair and go over it few times. Hair was also pretty frizzy after using it. Feel I get better results with my ceramic flat iron and this did not save me as much time as I had hoped. It does work easily and quickly on my daughters hair which is much finer and less wavy than mine so I will probably keep it for her to use.

I have very curly hair, and flat iron it often. I don't want to use the flat iron every day, especially if I am just going to go with a headband or pony tail, but after sleeping, it always needs some attention. This works very well to tame the 'bed head" look. It won't replace a flat iron, but when you just need a little help this works great. Doesn't make your hair too hot and leaves it feeling smooth. Definitely takes away the sleep creases. I am always surprised by the amount of work it takes to look "natural" and this product does help in that area. I do find that I am frequently accidentally tapping the temperature buttons on the side of the handle while using, but when I do I just adjust again. I think that in time I will get used to where they are, but I think they could have been placed differently for a better overall handling experience.After reading other reviews I found that to adjust the display from C to F just tap both the + and - buttons at the same time. (You will have to do this every time you turn it on)Overall, it does what it says. If you are looking for super straightening, maybe going over very small sections very slowly would work, but if I am taking that much time I'll use a flat iron instead! Probably would work well for children, I wouldn't worry about accidentally burning them while using this.

My hair is shoulder length and the brush works okay in my thick and curly hair. It is a little uncomfortable and I find that I need to use the curling iron more to finish it up. The curling iron straightens my hair almost as well. The brush is very hot but it doesn't get my hair as straight as I would like. It is somewhat of a disappointment and I would not recommend it over a comb or blow dryer with comb attachments. It is possible that if they changed the "bristles" this would work better.

I have very fine, naturally wavy hair that absorbs water like crazy. It takes forever to dry no matter what so I always let it air dry. Blow drying it myself would be an insane hassle because it would take so long and also my hair tangles easily because it's so fine. I dislike the wave in my hair and prefer it straight, so I usually straighten it. The only thing I dislike about flat irons is that they really dramatically straighten, which is nice every now and then but for day to day it's nice to still retain a little texture, which is where this product comes in.While looking at similar products what really sold me was that this didn't seem to give that dramatic straight that a flat iron gives, but rather mimics a blow out. I recently got my hair cut and it looked SO good when the hairdresser was done with it, and I was kind of sad that I'd never see it like that again because I simply will not use a hair dryer. Now I can, every day if I want to, because of this straightener-brush! The brush itself is extremely easy to use, came very fast through the mail and works exactly as described.There are a few things that aren't perfect though. It takes a good 5 minutes to heat up hot enough to work properly. There is one spot on the back of my head that I cannot seem to get good enough no matter how many times I go over it, but that's probably because I can't see what I'm doing back there. And my hair is still has static to it after use.Other than that, this works really well. My hair still has volume! I love having straight hair that also isn't flat and lifeless! It's fun to use and works which is most important, and unless it breaks on me for no reason, this absolutely deserves 5 stars. I'm really happy with my purchase.

I used this once on my granddaughter and although it's not faster than using a straightening iron, it IS a bit easier. My own hair, though, is thick and curly and I used it and used it and used it but my fair was never actually straight. If your hair is even slightly damp it will burn, so I blowdried my hair first and it still never looked smooth like it does when I have my hair professionally done. Still, for my granddaughter's hair, especially to freshen it in the morning before school pictures, it worked great. Once. I used it once on my hair and once on her hair, and then it sat in the cabinet for months. Last month I took it out to do her hair before a school awards assembly and it wouldn't even turn on! It was way too late to return it so here it sits.
