Most never know that they have a zinc deficiency
Zinc deficiency is extremely rare in the western world, primarily as we have a reasonably nutritious diet, however, some years ago, after continually feeling lethargic and feeling unwell, I was diagnosed with a zinc deficiency, although the cause has never been found. I still take a zinc supplement, as I have every days since 1988, despite the fact that my diet is good and I regularly eat foods which are considered to contain more zinc, such as red meat, baked beans, bread etc.Care should be taken with this supplement, particularly young children as it can cause intrinsic staining of the teeth i.e. from the inside, particularly as the teeth are developing and there are a list of complications for older people too. I would therefore suggest that this supplement should only be taken on the advice of a medical practitioner and for a recognised need, despite that the zinc element is quite low and well within the RDA. There is a school of thought that zinc combined with vitamin C can help prevent or negate the effects of the common cold, but after over 30 years of taking this or similar supplements I have not noticed any difference. The only difference I have noticed is that if I cease taking a zinc supplement, after about three weeks, my original issues slowly come back and after being tested on a couple of occasions, I am confirmed as having a zinc deficiency. This pack contains a 90 day supply with the major benefit being from the Vitamin C. They are easy to swallow.I have awarded this item 4 stars as I feel that the main benefit is to boost Vitamin C levels and in that regard, you can purchase alternatives at a lower price.
