Not a PiFace SHIM RTC
The product I received is not the PiFace SHIM RTC and does nott look like the photo in this ad. The true Piface SHIM RTC is a very thin PC board designed to be sandwiched beween the raspberry pi and another hat. The true PiFace Shim relies on a clever off-setting of some of the connector holes to obtain a good electrical connection to the Pi's GPIO pins. The RTC I received has a 6-pin socket designed to plug on top of the Pi (which will not work for my needs) and uses a diffrent battery and RTC chip than the true PiFace SHIM RTC.

Does the job, stupid silkscreening priorities
Cute board. Works well enough. Has enough space on the back for FCC rules Part 15, sections 1 and 2 as well as an inexplicably large PiFace RTC logo, an eagle, some sort of G logo, a funky looking backward comma, a circle-check mark logo, a no trash logo, Element14 in two places, notes that it's designed in Cadsoft Eagle, and a confoundingly large CE logo (JUST ON THE BACK!) - but not pin numbers, polarity indications, hints to positioning, etc. Of course there's no documentation in the package, or the listing here, but the logos are cool. Genius.
