Great States! : Over 200 First-Rate Reproducible Activity Sheets to Fascinate and Educate Paperback – April 1, 1995

This is a good workbook for teachers and those who want to reproduce handouts on geography. It has limited descriptions and factual information (sparser than I expected). It is also useful for families with multiple children if you don't want the first to "spoil it" by writing in the pages for the second. A simple photocopy and each child can have a worksheet that does not have the answers marked up all over it.

I am very impressed with this book. My daughter loves it. It gives a really interesting historical view of each state. For the middle school age student, I think this is a super book. It is quite detailed, inlcuding the state song, tree, mammal, bird, and many other "state items". I am discovering many of the other publications by Cindy Barden and appreciate her work. The activities included to help the student to "dig a little deeper" are great!

This is a basic book with not as many facts as I'd like. It is not organized into the 5 regions of the US. I use it for 4th grade level.
