Windows 7 Simplified
OK--none of the early books on new operating systems will be all that great, however this one is better than the first one I purchased that was by Microsoft. The problem is that these self help books are written about the time the software is being prepared for release to the public and therefore the writers don't have enough expierence to write a really great book. This book has lots of pictures detailing how a particular action works and that is good. Don't expect though to learn about everything that Windows 7 can do for you as these writers just either don't know or it was too early in the process for them to learn about everything Windows 7 has to offers.

very east to follow
I needed a book for my senior parents to refer to for Windows 7 and this is perfect. This book will work for any age, beginners and just to answer questions for those who just aren't so computer savvy. Its very simple, detailed step by step with excellent color photos. This is highly recommended to all who are afraid that they may not be able to handle a computer for the very first time. Trust me, work slowly, step by step and you will open your life to a whole, new exciting world with just a few key strokes. My parents are enjoying the shopping, reading and downloading of all necessary forms. They really like their new freedom. P.S. I started with a similar book for XP and it really has taught me alot :)

I am 73 yrs. old & still working a full time job. I was 60 when I first tried to get on a computer. I mastered Windows 5 and loved it.Windows 7 is not as easy for me. I have to refer to this book often and I'm glad to have it. I have been told Windows 8 is a little better.I may get a Windows 8 one day.

Windows 7 Simplified is Worth Every Penney
Windows 7 Simplified is a reference manual that should be part of every computer user's library. There are simple, step-by-step directions for tasks that we often take for granted that should be accomplished to make our using experience more satisfactory. Many adults have never taken a computer class, but have been part of a work environment where heavy computer usage was a requirement. However, in those environments, an IT department has upgraded and maintained computers while the user never learned some of the basics like cleaning up a disk, running a disk defrag, or burning a CD. For that user, this manual is for you!

WINDOWS EXPLAINED FINALLY inn PICTURES
You need this book if you are using WINDOWS 7. I think Win 7 is the best OS that MicroSoft ever made. That and DOS 5.0.I used to teach computer classes at Wake Tech in Raleigh NC and at a "Famous" hospital in NC, and this brand of book is the one I recommend 100%. PICTURES!!!!I taught dumb ones and smart ones. The smart ones needed the books more than the dumb ones because the smart ones "Already knew it all" <G>It's only $15 and uses pictures, not words like other wordy types of Yellow books at all.

Makes Windows 7 a breeze!
Windows 7 Simplified is a great text for anyone switching from another Windows program or for anyone just getting a computer and wondering how this operating system works. This read less-learn more text is great because it not only has illustrations to walk you through each step, but it also has other tips, easily found in boxes, throughout the text. All the Simplified Read Less-Learn More texts are the way to go to feel comfortable with your computer. Microsoft Office Word 7 and other components of Word are also well done in this Simplified kind of text. Great for beginners and intermediates.

Excellent resource, easy to follow and read.
Since it is impossible to get a full view or big picture of what is involved from the "HELP" menu it is desirable to have reference booksand this one simplifies much of what the other references expound on. The four rating reflects the fact that not all the books procedures are correct, but no book on operating systems can be totally correct due to flux nature of the operating systems.

EXCELLENT book on Windows 7, well worth reading and its price.
Excellent book and well worth the price. I am new to Windows 7, I first read the "Windows 7 for Dummies" book. It was helpful as an introduction to 7. THIS Windows 7 SIMPLIFIED book took me steps further, with better illustrations, more detail, more information. Easy to follow & understand as well, and it uses color coding. I will keep this one nearby as a good reference book. This is the kind of book/manual that should have come with Windows 7. I very highly recommend this one. I would give it 5+ or 6 if I could.

Windows 7 Simplified
A great book for absolute beginners but if you have used XP or Vista this book will not add much to your learning experience as it covers much that has gone before.Having said that, it is well illustrated, easy to follow and informative if this is a first experience with Windows.
