Light up your world!
This is, hands down, the best task light I've ever used. When the neck is fully extended and crooked for light on the table . . .the distance is approximately 12", making this lamp a true "task" lamp. But because of it's extreme flexibility, it makes this light perfect for any intricate hobby work. I sew and can turn the lamp down to within inches of my needle. Because it's LED, it doesn't radiate heat. But what makes this light even more unique over other LED task lights currently on the market are the different color settings. For artistic tasks, choosing the correct color is paramount and that's where this light shines (pardon the pun). With the simple touch of a finger, easily switch from cool to warm to a combination of both in the natural lighting.I highly recommend this lamp for artists, quilters, needle work and other intricate tasks.***Update, May 23, 2014***After using this light for 9 months, I find it so helpful, I ordered a second for my serger table. I had an Ott Light on that table . . .but not only was the light not enough to light up the loopers beneath . . .but I couldn't crook the light neck as I can with my Stella. A light that doesn't reach the spots where it's needed most is no help at all. Over all, I couldn't be happier. Once you've used one, you never want to go back.

This lamp will light up your world!
Our dad is going to be 92 in October. Just before Father's day, he had mentioned he wanted a new desk lamp. He said it should be 24 to 30" long so it would light up his whole desk. Obviously, he wasn't aware that the lamp he was describing from the mid-1900's was no longer available. I had seen the Stella light in a craft video and went to the website to research the details. This lamp is very light in weight, has 3 different light tones (daylight, incandescent and bright) with five different light levels ~ adjustable with the simple tap of a finger. The lamp is adjustable and gives a wide range of illumination and has LED lights which will give 55,000 hours of light! The Stella website has a video demonstrating it's features. But! This is not your inexpensive college room desk lamp! It is a bit pricey but after seeing it in person and receiving the unexpected rave reviews from our Dad, it was worth every penny! It is perfect!

Mixed review
Below is my initial review. I have used one of these for 14 months. (The warranty is for a year.) It no longer works. It flashes on and off and the power button doesn't work. I can only unplug it, and it is useless. This product life is entirely unsatisfactory. I would not buy another. I still have the second one in its box and will use it but won't expect much from it.I've just received two of these. One will be fine near my sewing machine, but I had hoped to use the other near where I sit in the living room to knit. Unfortunately, the quite large transformer (?) plug will not be useable (i.e. in the way and hazardous) in the floor outlet where I would need to plug it in. Also, I hate the shiny "patent leather" look plastic on parts of the lamp. I had hoped, but couldn't tell from the pictures on line, that it would be a matte finish and therefore inconspicuous in its plasticity. In principle, this lamp seems to be along the same lines as a much less expensive lamp I previously purchased for my desk, which has the same or similar options for intensity and color of light. That one is also shiny plastic, but not on prominent display in the living room where I want things to look nice! So I give this good marks for functionality but rate it low aesthetically.

Overrated
Less than three years after purchase both the light dimming and the "tri-spectrum technology" adjustments ceased to function. Light will now simply turn on or off. Since the 'warranty' is only for two years, I am super disappointed. I called the Support number listed on the Stellalighting.com site, and ended up leaving a message. Still waiting to hear back.... So. Cool lamp, until it stops being a cool lamp and starts being "just another lamp".

Expensive, but, worth it!
I didn't want to start a collection of lighting, I already have an Ott clamp-on light in my sewing machine area & a floor lamp near my cutting table. To be fair, I only have the 18 watt, it's not enough. I spotted this light in a blog, so I began to research, I ended up buying this ,thinking I would probably return it. Absolutely not! I love it! It is sleek, very portable, lights up a good portion of an area when you extend the neck and I love the touch feature and also the different modes! Currently, I am working on a hand embroidered project, it is REALLY helping to see my project nicely without too much eye strain.

Best Task Light I Have Found!
I absolutley love this lamp. I have tried several different brands of task lighting for my sewing hobby and nothing else has even come close tobeing as bright and versitile as this lamp. You can adjust the lighting from dim to the brightest I have ever seen in a lamp with just a tap of the finger. I also like that you can twist and adjust it to put it anywhere you need the light. I like the fact that it uses led ligting instead of bulbs so there are no bulbs to replace. I will be ordering more of these lamps....I would give it 10 stars if I could!!!

Let there be light!
I bought this for my mom after she scoured the city for the "right" lamp. It seems to work for her. The price is a bit much, in my opinion. I bought a $16 LED lamp at Walmart that I think works just as well, and comes in multiple colors (pink, gold, blue...)
