Games Xplosion 121 Games in One Joystick Controller

TL, DR; lots of boring minigames. Most barely work, a few are tolerable. In terms of fun per dollar, this is the best of the plug n plays, but that's not saying much.I saw a few youtube videos on third party and plug n play systems and figured I'd see how bad they were. 121 games! Some of them have to be good? No, but a few are tolerable.The controller itself has only the yellow and white cables so no HDMI or stereo output or anything of the sort. It is powered by 3 AAA batteries. Make sure you have a small phillips head screwdriver to open the battery compartment. It has a latch too, so why the screw?As for the games- you'll quickly realize 90% are garbage. Some are knockoffs of classics- Tetris (called Russia), NES Track and Field (broken up into 9 of the 121 games), Space Invaders (First Defender), Minesweeper (Mine), and a few others. Some games are just 'collect items' games- move left and right and sometimes even up and down and get all the circles or stars or whatever but don't touch the skulls or spikes or whatever the bad item is. There's a bunch of shooter clones that all play about the same with different sprites. Some shooters don't even let you move, none of which seem to have power ups so it's just the same weapon.Most of the games feel like they were made in a matter of minutes and are not full games (such as the Track and Field subgames).Imagine playing Contra. Now remove the special weapons. Now confine yourself to one screen. You're at an easy boss. You defeat it, and the next level is that same boss but now sometimes a bird will fly across the screen. You defeat it and now you fight the same boss and not only is there a bird but now there's a spot on the ceiling that drips acid.Most of the games are like this- insanely repetitive. Also, the music is typically 8 second low quality loops. Some games don't even have sound. Also, some of the games have issues like flashing sprites or slowed music when 'overloaded'. Like if there's two enemies on the screen or more.I gave this five stars because it'd be irrational to expect more given how little I paid. I enjoy retro games and it's fun to pass the controller around and show friends just how bad it is.If you are reading this because you don't know much about video games, DO NOT buy this as a gift unless it's for small children who just enjoy flashing colors or for someone who loves terrible games.

I thought this was a great little purchase. Mind you, the games are very simple as far as graphics go, but comparable to the old school Atari games except, of course, generic versions. As long as you know that going into your purchase though, its a good time passer. It holds up pretty well also. I have 4 children ages 12 down to 5 and all of them (myself included), can find a game we enjoy playing. They have dropped this controller, threw it across the room and rolled the cord up and tossed it in a bin. It does occasionally freeze and you have to restart but we already know its not a $300 game system and it doesn't happen often. Battery consumption isn't bad and I use cheap batteries. All in all I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend this to smaller children up to about age 10 and for adults like myself that enjoy the nostalgic type of toys.

Cheap, made in China game, with no-name games. Works great for it's intended purpose of using in our truck with the headrest DVD monitors. Our 4 and 6 year old enjoy having "something to do" on longer trips. Would buy same or similar again if needed, at this price point. For what they are, they are not terrible, but not outstanding either.

Bought for a friend

After about 10min of game play, the graphics start to get static. Otherwise, a great little kit for a young child.

These games are really bad. I mean really bad. Fun for little kids or stoners.
