This collection shows that these artists had a lot more to offer than their few hits. A lot of country influence (Carl Perkins, The Big Bopper) and tough New Orleans bluesy rock (Frankie Ford). The Eddie Cochran Memorial Album is an excellent showcase and summary of his short career - and it's a fun listen, too. Johnny Preston was the biggest surprise. He showed a wide range of vocal talents. All of these artists attempted mainstream ballads and standards on this album - most succeeded. Great piece of lost history. And it's just good music.
